James Bond cars

I know it has been discussed in the 911 board about James Bond and Pcars, but I was watching "You Only Live Twice" last night and had a car question. In the early part of the movie he hops into a white sports car with a little Asian hottie and the race away. Does anyone know what that car is/was? It almost looks like it has fenders off of a Corvette. I hope someone can help me out cause it has been bugging me all morning.

Thanks in advance

As I recall, there were only two of the 2000GT roadsters built, one for the film, one for promo work.

Derivative of E types and Corvettes of the era, but still quite attractive.

Thanks that bugged me all day. I thought it looked a little like an Opel in the front, but with Corvette wheel arches.

Thanks again

Aw shucks, when I read this thread I thought it would be a discussion of the AMC Hornet Hatchback he drove in one of the movies.
