Need input for European Vacation

I am going on Sabattical next month (8 weeks off) and want to spend 10 or so days in Europe. I haven't booked anything yet so time is running out. I have been to various cities in Germany on business trips and plan on starting in Munich. My wife wants to goto Prague as well, so Cech is on the list. We have been to Paris so France is out.

Does anyone have suggestions for a German / Cech vacation and know were I should go to book such a vacation??

Thanks for any input.

-Kerry

Fly to Berlin on Continental and hang out there for a few days. In a few years, the Wall will be an even more distant memory than it is now.

Then, rent a car and drive to Munich for Oktoberfest, which starts on September 17th and runs through October 3rd.

I love cologne. Nice, laid back city, great pedestrian strolls, amazing cathedral. Antwerp beligum is nearby, which is a nice quiet town.

What about northern Italy? Forget Rome or Milan, go to Florence. Lake Como is beautiful as well. If you get the urge for touristy stuff, head over to Pisa and see the leaning tower.

I have to agree Koln is nice with that incredible Dom. Amsterdam is always a good starting point for any European Vacation. Heck, I end up spending lots of my time in the Netherlands as its so much fun.

If you start in Amsterdam you may not remember much of the remainder of your vacation...

both in France .. I would spend the entire time there.

or perhaps jump a train the last 2 weeks to look around. Play it by ear, and sleep on the train.

(or) if you want to get your feet wet.. Palma De Mallorca, an island off the southern coast of France that is part of Spain. It's a very popular " Holiday " spot. I spent 2 months there once. Even in wintertime it was great. Got to ride Trumps huge cruiseship wantabee too.

as far as Paris... I've been to France like 14 times and never even wanted to go to Paris...... so don't assume that Paris is everything.

good luck and have fun... wish it was me

These are great ideas, keep them coming. Any ideas on booking the travel? I know it's sad, I travel non stop for work but I have very little experience booking travel for leisure.
