hmmmm a Porsche V8 shoehorned into a bare-bones 944 chassis........ that is pretty close to some kind of dream car

He also ran the car is Speed World Challenge against some pretty serious competition. I don't have any results offhand, but the fact that he was out there and able to compete at that level is pretty darn cool considiring he was also one of, if not the OLDEST cars out there.

I loved my 84 "S". It had a 5spd and factory LSD. I tried to autocross it once, but I couldn't fit into the car comfortably with a helmet. It did have nice balance and good grunt, so I imagine the later ones with up to 345hp or whatever the GTS had, with appropriate track mods, would be tons of fun.

They are incredibly comfortable cars to drive daily, which I did. And, though it may sounds nuts, not too bad in the snow. I went through the winter of 2000-2001 in my '84 with all season tires and about 200lbs of sand in the hold, over the battery box area. It was fun.
