UPS sux
And I will never use those worthless ba$tards again. Package was supposed to arrive last Friday. Checked online, hey changed to today with no explanation. Got home today and there's a door hanger that says they left it next door. Neighbor was gone til a few minutes ago. I went and asked, he didn't have it. Call the # on hanger and dip**** says we're going though a sort and there's nothing he can do. Says I have to call back in the morning to file a claim. I tell him I know better and the shipper has to file a claim. I ask for a supervisor and he says he is. Express my displeasure with UPS and that they screw up every shipment. The guy asks for ship number on ticket, looks it up and says it is back in for redelivery tomorrow. Has no idea why dumbfuch driver noted it was next door. I will NEVER ship anything with that POS company again.

ups totaly sux and is very good at screwing everyone!!!
They must be going out of their way this month, here is what others from another forum I belong too have to say about ups. So what do most folks use FedX or UPS? When I just bought my bike, UPS lost it for 4 days! Is Fed-X any better/cheaper/faster? Your best bet is to pack it real good and put a declared value on what ever it is that your shipping. If you are going to mark your package "FRAGILE", only put it once or twice because I think that they like to kick the S**T out of yoiu box if you over do it. My personal experience with how UPS likes to break things...I used to work at a Classic Mustang Parts manufacturer(across the street from Redline in Camarillo.) We'd unload about a dozen trailers all onto a large conveyer belt, then every so many yards, there was a big hydraulic steel bar that would shove the boxes off the belt and onto a tray for people to sort. During peak hours when there was too much stuff on the belt, those bars would slide across and crush dozens of boxes at a time. Nobody cared. It was all about production. It happened every night. As a UPS customer, the delivery man couldn't find my address, so he misdelivered my package three times despite my best attempts to contact anyone who cared. I finally just drove by the house that kept getting my package and took it off the doorstep myself. Posts: 77 | From: E. Yeah they do suck. They ruined a set of cookie cutters for me, AFTER they lost them for 4 days.
I even refuse to buy from online merchants who will only use UPS. Usually, if you email a company to see if they will use another carrier, they will. It's all about the green. ![]()

Well, UPS is better than the Post Office for claims. Had a $3,000 sword shipped to Switzerland several months ago, they bent it, i called in a claim, they gave me $3,000 and the bent sword back within 4 weeks.
On the flip side, i shipped a $5,000 sword to Indonesia 6 years ago, US Postal Express. It disappeared, i file a claim, it is still "under investigation" today. Stopped using Postal for packages ever since. UPS could be better, but the USPS and FedEx is not that great either... alf

Ahhh...the old Fed UP vs UPiSs off debate...
Both suck...as does DHL/Airborne and USPS.... Recently...shipped a couple of large boxes to CO with suspension items via FedUP...scanned in on June 21, departed location June 22...on July 23 the recipient calls...no package yet. Call FedUp...monkey on the other end of the phone (no...not my end) says, yep...it's lost. Great...I file a claim. Two days later, I get call from my local rep...yeah, we're gonna have to deny your claim due to improper packaging... WTF?? Improper packaging??? How the fuch do you know it was improper if the package is lost and YOU CAN'T FIND or SEE IT??!! ![]() Hmmm...I'll have to look into it sir... ![]() UPS Story #1 of far too many: Shipped a 915 and Webbers to Florida. Built a very nice WOOD box for it with several internal gussets to make sure the trans didn't shift from it's position during shipping plus an additional compartment for the Webbers inside the box. This box increased the weight a good amount. Recipient comes home to find the box sitting on his doorstep with several large holes and broken 2X4 framing...sure enough, the trans is shifted out of it's position and the webbers are trash... I'm pretty sure I could have run over this box with the UPS truck and not damaged the box... End result...claim denied...improper packaging... ![]()

I called the dimwits this morning to tell them to hold off delivery and I'd pick it up. Gave them the # on the ticket, they said IF they could find it, I could pick up after 10:30 am. I just don't want to give them the chance to kick the **** out of it another time. I'm walking in with a camera and notepad. Have a really bad feeling....
I've used Fedex ground lots of times without problems. They sometimes deliver early. No more **** brown for me. |

A DHL/Airborne driver indicated that he delivered a "next morning delivery", time sensitive package that he did not actually deliver until three days later. Product was dead, end user pissed. I got on the phone to the vendor, told them how their carrier was representing them, got on the phone to DHL and told them of my displeasure in having erroneous information listed and them not living up to the contracted next-morning delivery.
I have not seen that person since (was told he was reassigned) and my DHL packages have been right on time for the last eight months. My motto: Be vocal, be a squeaky wheel

My brother in law worked at UPS for five years night/early morning shift loading trucks. He said most of the loaders throw/drop kick/spike/whatever else you can think of most of the packages, and supervisors watch all this without doing anything about it. They were happy when they heard shattering glass. I'm guessing the depot he worked at is worse then most in this way.

UPS in my area is pretty good. I know my local driver personally so my stuff makes it.
I've dealt with UPS in other parts of the country (Maryland comes to mind) where they are belligerent and screw things up ON PURPOSE. So I sympathize. FEDEX ground in here in Kent is staffed by retards. If the drivers aren't going home early and declaring that "they couldn't find my address" they're leaving expensive merchandise ON MY LAWN ($1k worth of Wood Blinds!) Last time I was there to pick up stuff since I simply don't trust 'em the dummy at the counter said I "had to go to another location" - other side of the parking lot since that claim #was a different shipping service. ' I came back in, went back to the same counter girl and in front of an entire lobby go " you were wrong, it's here, what are you thinking?" - I get the rolleyes and the "Uh, WHAT - EVER..." quality of course.... rjp

On the flip side, I was in Manchester England week before last to supervise a system installation. I got on site and low and behold discovered that we were missing a crucial part. Fed Ex had the package with the crucial part shipped from Seattle, through customs and in my hand in less than 36 hours. Amazing if you ask me...

Bought a set of wheels that were at Al's shop...he had just refinished them for the seller. He shipped and I received BUT one 16x8 was bent and the box bottom edge was crushed. UPS said return to shipper for a claim. Al filed the claim but they never came out to exam the wheel to see the damage....just denied the claim. Yes, Al can fix the wheel but that will cost an additional $75 or so plus shipping back to me. How can they deny a claim if they don't even come SEE the damn thing.

LOL, my UPS dude always asks me "How is the chopper project coming along?" (he had to lug my frame up to my doorstep for delivery).
DHL blows, they held my laptop in the local disti center for 5 days. Wouldn't even let me pick it up. It was scheduled for delivery 5 days hence, which means it's stuck in the center until they actually deliver it. Morons.

Bought a cat. converter for the Jeep.
Shipped UPS. Local guy takes it to a catalytic converter manufacturer 1.5 miles away, despite the address printed on the box. Driver picks it up 2 days later, and returns it to the people I bought it from saying I "refused" the package (lying POS never even came to my place). Cat. converter company hot ships a second converter USPS and I get it about the same time convertor #1 comes back to them. I buy parts from a Pelicanhead who sends them FedEx Ground Home Delivery. I'm not home. Driver opens the gate and puts the package out of the sun at the back door. A lot depends on your local driver. I've had reliable UPS guys, but I've never had an unreliable FedEx guy.

I think it's just luck of the draw; I have a good UPS guy here in my neighborhood and no problemos. (Knock on wood), I rarely get FedEx packages, but they usually arrive OK. My PO mail carrier is a bit of an old stoner or something, he is firing on about 3 cylinders and never delivers ANYTHING, I always have to go to the PO. I finally caught up w/ him and had a talk, (had to control the old temper), now he says he'll deliver everything.
These horror stories suck- I feel for you guys.

I will never use UPS again either. I had a major issue over a Guitar I shipped to Londen through them. What a bunch of lamoids! The drivers seem to know their business but the dip-sh**s (management) (Sorry for the simulated expelitive Mark)at the main distribution center were total loosers when it came to customer service or effecient overseas shipping. It was as if they had never done it before. "What else do you people do?" (duh) FedEx has been good for me so far...
