Where to take your VW for repairs in Houston?

Specifically The Woodlands/Spring area. My GF is interning down at Anadarko and she needs some small work done on her late model Jetta.

Anyone here have a daily driver VW in Houston? Where do you go (besides the dealer)?

Why not go to the dealer? I think they usually spend less time diagnosing problems and they use OEM parts.

She needs her rear pads replaced. I think you need some sort of VW special tool.

You're right, a dealer is not going to be a whole lot more but it is always good to know your options and to strike up a good relationship with an independent shop could only be a plus.

Autozone will "rent" you a box of brake piston retractors for free if you are inclined to do it yourself. Not too difficult, but definitely not as much fun as wrenching a 911.

Interesting... she's replaced brake pads before (she's that kinda girl), maybe she'll go for that.

Anyone else?
