Cool Name your Anti-Depressant

This should be fun. I'm on 10mg's of Lexapro & it has changed my life...Anxiety down 90%...Depressive thoughts down too. Been through therapy, strong believer of chemical imbalance. I know I'm not alone. If I hear crickets chirping on this thread I'll be pissed.

Max & Emmy...advise to take in large doses daily if not hourly. Carefull, addiction will quickly occur and will be impossable to break.

I was on Prozac for a bit and couldn't get wood. Lexapro, no problemo...

was on nortryptaline for a few months, very low dose. Have been on and off xanax as needed over the past two years. Low dose with that too. Given my past history I watch my meds really closely.

So today I find out that my 56 year old brother (13 years older than me) likely has Alzheimer's. That isn't helping my anxiety. Combine that with a divorce, a g/f breakup and a new boss (who wants me to "redefine" my job). Oh yeah, and my car getting stolen Tuesday.

No wonder I'm back on my xanax. But more important therapy is next week at Laguna Seca. And two weeks after that at Willow. And two weeks after that at Willow. And two weeks after that at Thunderhill.

Heavy doses of sex with my Wife.

Heavy doses of time with my Son.

Heavy doses of time doing things that are fun for me with my friends, cars, bull**** like this board and radio control airplanes....

...and every now and again a crazy expensive trip to vegas where my friends beg me to go to a strip club where all I want to do is sit at a comforatable bar in a casino and nurse a comfortable buzz.

I took Welbutrin for a couple months, never ever again.

I felt great while it was in effect, more energy, more willing to go do stuff, etc.

But if I missed the 2nd pill of the day by 20 minutes or so I turned into a basket case.

I just couldn't handle the dependency, so I quit taking it, haven't bothered taking anything else, my life isn't nearly as bad as those side effects were.

Chance. Every night after work for about 30-40 minutes, he joins me for a nap on the couch. He's old, he stinks and he eats his own crap, but he's my best bud.

Thunderhill is Oct 8-9. There is a practice day on the 7th, but I have a panel discussion at work that I can't miss. As soon as that's over I'm heading north...should pull in late Friday night.

Next weekend I'm at Laguna Seca. Maybe some of the bay area pelicans want to meet halfway somewhere for dinner.

My anti-depressant is my ability to accept the fact that I will, on occasion, have a really shi**y day, or week, or weeks, but it will either pass, or I will get used to it. Nothing lasts forever! It really does!

Jeez man, sorry to hear that life is not treating you right. Sounds like you need a few hours in a cat house in Vegas to take your mind off of life!

Sorry to hear about your brother. Had this in my family but later on and we kinda expected it. Get him on meds and from what I hear it is a world of difference from what we did not have to work with even 10 years ago.

Will hold the thought for you. As for the race track, its easy. Push on the right pedal, and when it feels good push a bit harder!
