I wish I was a hot waitress in Sweden

How cool is this.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/200508/s1441034.htm

"A waitress in Sweden thought her elderly customer was joking when he offered her his Porsche as a tip, but he kept his word and gave her the keys to the car,"

It turned out to be 1979 Porsche 924 worth 30,000 kronor ($US4,000).
You can't take it with you; give it to a charity and who knows what they will do with it.

Cool story, my old neighbor gave my brother a car (when he was 18), which had sat, in his garage for ten years. My brother tore it apart but could not get it running, it just needed too much work - Fairlane 500.

Asked if he had any regrets, he replied: "No, absolutely not."
Gee, I can only wonder why.

I once gave a girlfriend a '79 924. I reaped the dividends for a couple of years... One of the best investments I ever made. ;-)

A 924 with a flat tire is a 'total.'

After watching Top Gears 3 Porsches for less than $3K, I am not sure I would want a 26 year old 924.

That said... where are the icons for "This thread is worthless without pictures"?

You guys are fast ! I just heard the story myself.

Me and my brothers recently gave our folks a very nice house close to the beach. As a little tip for being god parents.

Hey, whatever works... I still have some pix of her, but not one would pass Z-man's scrutiny.

How did they arrive at $4,000.00 US????

realistically, $800-1.5k...first service ticket and you have to ask yourself, is it worth the expense?
