I bought a tired 69 Mach1 R Code Mustang back in the day for 6K...I promptly put another 20K into it...including 8K in the motor..60 hours were spent polishing and porting the heads...

It turned out that Triple Black was a special order colour...little did I know that when I bought the car....

I have basically lost interest in it, and havn't kept up with what they are going for now....

That car is hot!! I would love a 69 camero to restore. Too bad my father sold his 68 :(

Gary, who sells that crate body? That would sure solve any rust problems on a resto. ;)

God I love '69s, (OK, pun intended), our neighbors the Larsons had a '69 Indy pace car convertible in orange/white when it was new. I swear that car is as beautiful as any '73 Carrera RS, and I am crazy about '73 RSes. :cool:

I was curious about the body in the crate also. My 69 is really clean but Im thinking about building one now.

CARS has the body. Word is they are making a coupe as well.

A clean, straight, rust free body, no hidden bondo, no accidents. Worth the $10k price I have heard.

Porsche guys must have an affinity for Camaros? I entered a cruise in yesterday near here. Sure, why not? Only $10 to enter, and it meant I didn't have to park a mile away. ;) Anyway, I bumped into a long time PCAer while ogoling all the chrome...he was polishing his beautiful black Z-28. Oh, he still has his P-car, but says the Camaro is a different kind of fun, and he enjoys both cars equally. Hey, it's hard not to think street rod or muscle after attending one of these shows...:)

yeah pwd the early Camaro's are a different kind of fun. I think it fills the void for the things we dont want to do with our 911/930's. They have a similar feel in the seat also. I dont do burnouts with my 935 DP but the 69 Camaro 396 yessssss.

I don't understand the attraction for Chevys....except that they are cheap.....

I like Ford and Mopar....I wouldn't mind owning a 70 Challenger or Cuda with a 383 Mag engine....I had a 440 Six Pack the thing either was crusing at 35 mph or Launching into outer space....no in between...that made the car no fun to drive...

i also had a 66 427/425 matching numbers Corvette...car was fast and thirsty....

The Mustang was the most practical of the cars so thats the one I kept...I fit better in it...I had also put ALITTLE more care into the car...like 60 hours of polishing and porting of the heads vs stock heads....things like that...

A guy in the next town has the back half of a 69' RS SS

Rally Sport and Super Sport, and yes, a '69 Camaro could be both. (Have both packages).

yup although I did not read any statement that they were galvanized or not.

I'm surprised they tried to make it all original, then put a mural of a tourist midget on the side. :confused:

They also have 12 bolt rear ends, not 10 like this one.

When I was in High School I had a '69 SS Camaro 'vertible 350 4 speed. Paid $1500. Owned it for 10 years.

I wonder where it is today and what it's worth. :confused:
