Tough Choice - Giving Up My PCA Post.
Over the past 10 months I have been the managing editor of SLIPSTREAM mag, the Maverick PCA newsletter / mag. Going into it, I really had no idea how much time it took but found out quickly it was about 50 hours a month easy. With alll the travel and other projects I have going on not to mention the attention that my Wife and Kids should have, I have decided to give up my position with our PCA.
Needless to say, I'm kinda sad and maybe a little relieved. Check out the past issues. I'm a little bit proud of them. I never did anything like the mag before - went in with zero experience on a Mac or the pub program Quark. Coordinating with all the others involved and getting the issues out each month was an experience for sure. http://mav.pca.org/mav/Newsletter/Newsletter.asp I guess I'm looking for feedback, a sounding board of sorts.

Mike, I can sympathize entirely with your prediciment. While I have never held a PCA post, I was director of our local HOG (Harley Owners' Group) chapter for some time. It was like a second job. The hours were simply unbelievable to anyone who has not filled a similar volunteer position. I liked doing it, but the time became the deciding factor in giving it up. Folks that step up and do these things will forever have my respect.

I did my SCCA region newsletter for three years. A truly thankless job. It was a huge weight off my back when someone else took it over.

Mike: I figured that this was a lot of work, and wondered how long you'd be able to pull it off. Heck, you've paid your dues, don't sweat the decision.
For the record, there were three issues that were ESPECIALLY great. As I recall, there was some superb technical articles by a noted Porsche expert...... ![]()
