Why can't I post a pic that's only 585566 bytes?

I've been trying this for a while now and keep getting a message that the foto can only be a max of 100,000 bytes?

What am I doing wrong?

it's nearly six times the size you're allowed... can you trim it down with an editor or reduce the quality? If you can't, email it to me: logansbro [at] gmail and I'll do it for you and send it back.

Thanks for the offer Brian. Sooner or later I need to figure this out and do it myself. No time like the present.

I recently got my wife Adobe Photoshop elements and I thought I could do it there. Problem is, every time i do, the quality is way off.

I thought PP would let you upload any sized foto and they would resize for you during the upload process.

Try resizing it first to say 800 pixel width and 72 pixel/inch resolution. You can try "Sharpen" to see if it looks better. Then "Save for Web" and select a quality level that gets you around 90-something K. You can also manually select a quality number to fine-tune the image file size.
