Who Skipped going anywhere this weekend..
because of either gas prices or the lines to get it?
I am curious, we were going to head to Disney and decided to stay home and do nothing all weekend. My lawnmower used more gas than my car this weekend.

When you live in Vegas, you LEAVE town BEFORE the weekend.
Actually this time of year, stay over at the boat in Kahleeeeforneeeeah, is cooler over there. And yes, the diesel aux used almost 2 gallons getting me in and out of the slip for sailing all weekend.

Stayed home a lot this weekend. I just got back from hiking up in the hills (you access the trails by the local twisties!). Since I only live 2 miles from the twisties, and about 7 miles from the regional trails, I'm having my fun. I've cut my driving down nearly 50% from previous weeks though. Just to and from school and to the local grocery stores now...

Stayed home.......Trying to cut my fuel consumption not because of the cost, but I think we should all conserve.....Took the Targa out for a short drive Monday morning......Used less than 20% of the fuel I was planning to use before Katrina hit.....

Great picture, Tim!
I've burned maybe 2-3 gallons in the car if that. I have a feeling that a lot of people burned less than usual this weekend. ![]()

Umm, You guys do realize that the USA STILL has among the cheapest gas anywhere in the developed world right?
ie - Here in Calgary, AB, Canada it's 1.15 / L Do the metric conversion and FX rate and you're left with $3.65 US / Gallon. Yeah, It's mostly tax, but it's still $3.65 AM

Wow, I'm not sure how many times we have to explain this to you canadians and europeans, but the *reason* your gas is so much higher than ours is because it's got twice, even three times the amount of tax. You people are okay with that. Good for you, I guess.

As I mentioned, I know it's mostly tax. At the end of the day it still costs $3.65 for a gallon. The idea of not travelling because 'gas costs too much' tells me you guys are overstreched on the financial side.

If you do the math on it, it would be assinine to miss a getaway due to a buck a gallon increase. Think about it-
Take a typical car, let's say 20 mpg. Figure the miles driven. I live in Wisconsin so I'm familiar with people from Minnesota and Illinois fleeing their desolate wastelands for our scenic splendor ![]() Now in the long run........that's another story. ![]() |

BTW- I have 165 gallons of 101 octane in my shop right now that I purchased last week for my fleet trucks, just in case. I paid $6 a gallon for it. It seems we lost about 25% of our production capacity here in rhe USA so if it isn't affecting you yet here in the USA then it just might soon. So my point was, did you cancel plans in an effort to conserve fuel and not have to deal with the LINES at the service stations. In all honesty the price does not bother me at all.

I didn't avoid going places that I absolutley wanted or needed to go to save on fuel. I just cut down on my pleasure drives that I take in the evening after school or something like that. Of course I'd still go to the twisties any minute though
