The investigation of Katrina aftermath

I got this from a friend:

Bush is going to head the investigation into the response to Hurricane Katrina?!?!?

Didn't Clinton want to head the investigation into whether he had sex with that woman?

Didn't Reagan want to head the investigation into whether he sold weapons to Iran?

Didn't Johnson want to head the investigation into the Gulf of Tonkin incident?

Didn't Nixon want to head the investigation into the Watergate cover-up?

Didn't Kennedy want to head the investigation into who organized the Bay of Pigs invasion?

Didn't Eisenhower want to head the investigation into who ordered the U-2 to fly over the USSR?

Random,
Sherwood

you forgot Hitler and the cocentration camps.

skipdup 09-07-2005 03:34 PM

Not true.

bi-partisan committee from house & senate is doing the investigation.

I'm positive that the house & senate don't fall under the office of the president.

Why would you think Bush was heading the investigation?

Um, maybe 'cause it was all over the news yesterday?

What I intend to do is lead a -- to lead an investigation

OK. Looks like I was wrong - sort of. Bush still isn't heading the investigation.

And, the house & senate still aren't the president.

What's the problem?

The libs are equivocating on the word "lead" here.

Bush uses it as in; 'I'm going to get the ball rolling on this .. .

And the lib's want to interpret Bush to be saying; "I'm going to micro-manage an investigation on this . .. .

The lib's want SOMETHING to be OUTRAGED about. . ..ANYTHING, (or anyone) related to Bush.

Lots of homeless "OUTRAGE" looking for a whipping boy.

No need to get your shorts in a bunch.

It was just some internet levity.

Pardon me,
Sherwood

Lots of scrambling going on now. A lot of revisionism about who asked for help, when. The facts are going to surprise a lot of Bush supporters. And not in a good way.

jyl 09-07-2005 05:16 PM

Just as the mayor of New Orleans shouldn't have any role in conducting the investigation, neither should the Administration or the President.

Hard for an investigation conducted by the House and Senate to be non-partisan or have much credibility (Congress has approval ratings as low, or lower, than the President). I'd prefer an independent commission.
