Oh wait, it was Sandy Berger from the Clinton administration so it's no big deal, nevermind. You can read about it if you want, but it's no big deal.

Just wondering if it were Tenet or Rice or whomever from the Bush admin, would this not rock the world? The guy put them in his socks then claims it was a mistake? WOW!

I heard the whole investigative report on NPR on the way in this morning. Here it is:

"Sandy Berger admitted he had removed highly classified documents, but said the removal was inadvertent."

He snuck out with documents in his socks!

If what I read was accurate -- highly doubtful these days -- Berger removed handwritten post-it notes and then later claimed he 'thought he was looking at copies.'

BZZZT! I don't buy it.

It is a little unclear to me from the story whether they have copies or not, but they said one of the items he took and destroyed was a document critical of the Clinton administrations anti-terror efforts, WHAT A COINCIDENCE!

Hmmm... first Kerry bankrolls Joe Wilson's website and brings him on as an advisor, then has his Foreign Policy advisor Sandy Berger pinched stealing documents to cover his and other Clintonistas' tracks. Not that these little, tiny, meaningless, picayune little blunders will in any way discourage the Kerry Kamp from claiming to be in a position to criticize judgment on matters foreign policy.

Reportedly, the docs were folded up real tiny and stuck up in the "W" keys that were stolen from the whitehouse staff keybards.

(I know, it was a stretch)

Pocket Mints before driving off without paying for 14 gallons of unleaded
super.

An apologetic Berger said that "my bad," and offered to return several cans
of Bud Lite to the Chevron.

If the eye witnesses are credible and he was stuffing them in his socks, pants, etc... then I would agree. Right now he is denying he hid them. If it is proven that he is lying about that, well............

Are they still hanging people in NJ? How about quartering? Best do it without a proper trial, too.
In any case, this is a really weird story. I wonder what becomes of it. The timing is pretty neat.
