this is gonna rock
This weekend is gonna be awesome. 50deg in the eve 75 in the day humidity about 40% (low for Va).
The kids are going to various locations and the little lady and I have weekend reservations at a little bed and breakfast in the western mountains of Va. Reservations at a 5 star restaurant who's specialty is catfish. Cell phones don't work there because of the green bank observatory. Natural hot springs are only 30 miles away. We haven't taken a weekend off in so long we honestly don't remember the last time we did. To recap NO PHONES NO KIDS NO WORK Oh and the added bonus of driving the P-car in the mountains. I hope we remember the camera!

My weekend is not as nice... but not bad...
Got a room at an all suite hotel in Ventura for two days with my lady friend... going to German autofest Sunday. Not exactly the hills of Va. but not too shabby. Have a great time Rick!

Flying to Kansas City to pick up 911.
Drive it back through Nashville, Smokey Mountain National Park, Blue Ridge Highway and Savannah with my 12 year old son as co-pilot. I will think of you Rick as I carve up the Mountains. I plan on staying on secondary roads in East Tenn. West NC as much as time will allow me to. Have a fun weekend, wife and I will be ALONE in South Beach in 3 weeks celebrating our 16th. First time we will be alone without kids in 2 years.

hey Jim
Enjoy the parkway You will love it. That road begins about 30 miles from my house. When I have a few hours to kill I can be found on the northernstretch of the blue ridge enjoying the road and views. The only downfall is the speed limit........45mph. Just pack the Valentine 1. Don't forget the camera.

Remember, peanutbutter is an acceptable replacement for oysters in a pinch (its all about the protein) and ya still have time for a midnight run for lubricants!

Catch some caverns if you can. Cold, dark and sure to bring you two close.

It sounds great. Since leaving many years ago I've never forgotten this time of year back there, the way the summer eases into autumn, the warm days and cool nights, the gathering crispness of the mid-South in September.
