Website idea for displaced NO people

I just caught the end of a segment on Fox where a police officer in NO was talking about his house, his neighborhood, and he mentioned that he may never see many of his neighbors again. Nobody knows how many people will settle permanently wherever they end up, and even the ones who move back to NO may not end up in the same neighborhoods they left.

So, i was thinking... It would be cool to build a website similiar to classmates.com, where those people who 1.) had internet access and 2.) wanted to find their old neighbors would be able to put their old address online. Have it set up so that addresses aren't just posted up there, it has to be smart and safe.

Anyone think this is a good idea?
