I'll change it as soon as i can figure out how to shrink down the new one i want...:p

I don't believe that is truly an Alqueda tape, it's not their modus operandus. They don't advertise their targets. Doesn't make sense to do so - it wouldn't be as effective as a surprise target and a surprise timing of the attack.

And Sandy Bergler while we are at it.

BTW...Bin Ladin has been neutered and is in hiding...No longer with the image Clinton left in his head that we were weak.

How long did it take to find Eric Rudolph?

stevepaa 09-12-2005 12:17 PM

Yeah, he is probably hiding with all the WMD taken out of Iraq and put into Syria. Bin Ladin neutured. Nah, I don't think so. Just a convenient term when we can't find him and failed to kill the true terrorist leader.

GettinHeadStuds 09-12-2005 12:46 PM

They hit San Pedro hard and the whole west coast is fuct.

Mulhollanddose 09-12-2005 12:46 PM

Even Bin Ladin admitted Clinton's strategy displayed weakness...Bin Ladin aint singing that tune anymore...Nevermind Clinton failed to apprehend Bin Ladin and created a fertile American intelligence hole that allowed 9-11 to transpire.

Your forgetfullness of the whole story is fascinating.

Yes, you are.

GWB and OBL need need each other.

Without OBL, GWB would have been another one-term wonder like his dad. Without the "war on terror," he doesn't have a bad guy to whip the redneck masses into a jingoistic frenzy. Republicans can't use gays as the pariah any more, since so many of their own kids have come out of the closet, and Hollywood-bashing is only good for a day or two of material.

Without GWB, OBL has nobody to personify Irael's fascist errand boy-state, and he can play the 'abandonment' card by pointing out how Regan gave him the bro' hookup in the 80's, then left him twisting in the wind when he was no longer useful; or how the US hooked Saddam up with his own sweet little dictatorship, then kicked his as when it was politicially expedient to do so.

Bush won because Kerry was a BAD CHOICH FOR PREZ....Jerry Lewis coulda won against Kerry.....

I THINK Al Oaeda doesn't have the capabilty to pull off anything really big...like 911

I think it is a matter of too many hounds after the fox...everybody is suspious...whereas the 911 boyz were able to get flight training and nobody even cared...today it ain't the same...

The BIG PROBLEM BEFORE 911 was that the different Federal Agencies DIDN"T TALK TO ONE ANOTHER...and share info...that was due to BUREAUCRACIES trying to protect thier turf and an ORDER FROM A CLINTON APPOINTEE IN THE DOJ....

So what is AL Qadea capable of.....Madrid and London style bombings in high traffic areas....thus a bomb in the Main Terminal of Airports etc....

Our "little friend" says, "We ain't gona show compassion like before." U mean a bomb in a subway is showing compassion...hmmm obviouslily his meaning is that Al Qaeda is going to use something BIG????

The Greater LA area is spread out and there is no one concentration of targets to hit...so what do U hit in SO CAL....that makes a BIG BOOM....San Onofree (nuclear pwr plant S of Dana Point)...Blow up a Cargo ship in Long Beach or San Pedro harbors...

Oh and their still are plenty of Conservatives in SO CAL...David Drier...one of the hitters in the House is the rep from my ole district...

Nooooo.... I go to the beach in San Onofre ( slight glow with the all over tan )

actually, it's already been shown in a james Bond movie ..
Well placed explosion on the SA fault... instant Arizona Bay..

Damn, and I don't have my truck anymore that could go underwater.

Goat Boy must be Osama's new *****............

fintstone 09-12-2005 08:03 PM

I guess I stand corrected. Apparently a large percentage of LA supports the war and George Bush. You guys had me fooled before, but I can admit it when I am wrong.

widebody911 09-12-2005 08:04 PM

Didja ever notice how every time Bush's ratings slip, a new
"El Kayda" tape comes out?

JavaBrewer 09-12-2005 08:14 PM

[adjusting tin foil hat]WOW! No s**t? Tom please continue...[/adjusting tin foil hat] :)

Did you notice that Osama was working for the Kerry campaign and al qaeda actually produced a jihadi info-mercial in support of the gigolo?...I am pretty sure it was in conjunction with Michael Moore.

Those of you who seem to find glee in the prospect of LA taking a terrorist hit make me sick. You know who you are; I don't need to waste my time quoting a bunch of threads that everyone has already read.

As long as only liberals are killed, that's okay, right? Seems to me that this country is pretty evenly split between liberals and conservatives. (Check that. I'd say that the vast majority are moderate, and stand somewhere in the middle.)

Does anyone know the political leanings of those who were killed on 9/11? Didn't think so. Those attacks, and the attackers, didn't discriminate based on political affiliation. That's what made that day so devastating; nobody has felt really safe since.

No one is finding glee in the prospect of LA taking a terrorist hit...only in the fact that the "modern minutemen" might be a threat has made te left a bit more introspective about the situation.
Did you complain equally about the "apparent glee" that was obvious on this thread when our troops in Iraq were killed (i know, I know...they support the soldiers, but not the war...)? or the jokes here about Saddam's assassination attempt on our president?...or the liberals who wee protesting maimed GIs in the veteran's hospitals?

Personally, I feel perfectly safe.

JavaBrewer 09-12-2005 09:29 PM

The reality is that since 9-11 the efforts of departments like Homeland Security have done little to increase our actual security. That is not the administration's fault for I think an admiral job has been done. The problem is that the task is very large scale and complex - thus the war in the Middle East to buy us more time.

For most Americans it's still safety in numbers and sheer geographical size. Carry on with your lives. The odds of you getting killed on your morning commute is still, and will remain, higher than getting wacked by a terrorist.

No question, L.A. is a target-rich environment. Frankly I have been somewhat surprised that "culturally significant" sites such as Disneyland, the TV/movie studios, Getty museum, Dodger Stadium, Staples Center, the Queen Mary / LB Aquarium area, the South Bay refineries, obviously the Port and its giant tankers & cruise ships, or myriad others have not been hit or publicly targeted.

Hell, just something as seemingly 'trivial' as wiping out a sizable stretch of the 10, 110, 5, 405 or 101 would wreak havoc for weeks if not months and cost $Billions to the economy. Remember that there is no meaningful alternate transportation here...light rail and buses do not have the routes or capacity to do squat as a true freeway-substitute.

In my view it's a matter of when, not if. There are WAY too many wackos out there -- including homebrew 'murican ones like this loser from The OC -- to believe otherwise.
