What else can I do to help my case. i've been in contact with at least 2 others that claim this seller has done the same too.

What do you have to do to confirm your suspicion that the tracking number is bogus?

Have you notified the eBay Gestapo?

The seller provided a tracking number which I checked with USPS. The number indicated item sent from Colorado and recived in California.

I live on the east coast.

I hope Paypal can save me on this one cause I'm about to lose faith in the system. I've generated THOUSANDS of dollars in fees for them.

Will they help me out this time? we will see.

If there is a tracking number, I assume the seller is claiming, in his defense, that the item was lost or stolen during shipment -- in which case, he should refund your money while he recoupes the loss by putting in an insurance claim with the carrier. If he, the seller, chose to ship without insurance, it's a risk he took and he'll have to eat his loss. If he won't refund your money voluntarily, then PayPal should issue you a credit (but considering what sort of a--holes run PayPal, all I can say is "Good Luck" on seeing your money again).

Seller claims he insured package and filed a claim....tracking # shows no insurance, which i PAID for!

I've been getting a convoluted story that goes around in circle from this seller....

Seller stats:

Seller's Ebay ID:motormaiden21 (private)
Seller's Name: Renata Marquardt
Seller's Email: motormaiden21@yahoo.com

what if the're multiple complaints on his account? 2 other buyers have the same problem as me.

If you've forwarded this information to PayPal, they should see that this guy's defense is bogus, and they should issue you a credit -- of course they probably know that this guy is committing fraud (if others have had the same problem) and don't want to take the hit for it. He's long gone with the money; if they credit you, they know they will be out the money for good. They'll hope to wear you down so you'll eventually give-up and they won't have to take the loss.

On-Ramp,

Very important, how did you pay for the auction? Pay Pal, but how do you pay for Pay Pal? Bank account or credit card? If you paid for this with a credit card immediately contact the company and stop payment.

If you paid using a bank account change it to a credit card. AmEx is better than Visa/MC as they will stop charges over the phone, Visa/MC require a letter be written.

Frigging Ebay and Pay pal are worthless as tits on a boar after the auction has ended and they have their money. They could care less at this point and chances of getting anything from them is poor.

Also, contact the police department in the city where the seller lives. Ask for the internet fraud department. Tell them the story and be prepared to email/fax supporting documents.

As well, look at this jerks feedback and if you can contact the people who have left negatives for him. See if they have had the same situation and if so band together and make as much noise together, especially with the police and Pay pal. More the better.

I have had two situations like this, and both were taken care of by local cops who sat a "black and white" several times a day outside the house until the jerk repaid all of us. Another situation where I paid with AmEx using Pay pal and just called AmEx and canceled the charge. That was the easiest way...

Good luck!

Reply to that email explaining that it appears the seller is telling a lie.

PayPal/Ebay doesn't want to know or admit than anyone ever has a problem using their service. They try very hard to sweep such issues under the carpet and hope that the victims just give up.

You'll have to keep emailing PayPal and Ebay; be accusatory using statements like "am I to assume you are assisting this seller in committing fraud?" but keep your cool and remain very factual. If eBay suspends this guy, make sure you note that in every email.

Is this seller's contact information correct? What does he say when you call him? If he doesn't have a valid phone number, he's violating eBay's and PayPal's terms of service. Have you pointed this out to them if that's the case? Is there any chance there was just a big mix-up on shipping and now the seller doesn't want to admit it? (Is there a chance it wasn't intentional fraud from the start?)

Keep records of every correspondence; not only save your email, but print it all out and save it as hard copies.

Good luck.

Remove the AT and put the @ in there. Its something to fool spammers and their computers who harvest email addresses to sell.

Does the above info appear to be the same? She should have given you an address with the invoice in case you pay with a check.

She has been selling only since 25 June and already 2 negatives out of 96 feedback reports. Not good... There is usually a reason why people hide their feedback and I refuse to buy from them.

I posted my case on an ebay board and got this in response:

"The seller has to prove delivery (to PayPal's satisfaction) to the confirmed address with shipment within 7 days of payment, or they lose. If the tracking number they gave PayPal doesn't show delivery to your address, you'll win the dispute."

I hope Paypal is smart enough to figure this one out in my favor and for the 2 other buyers that got scammed.

The tracking number bears your side of the story out. Have you contacted the USPS yet? I would go to your local office with a copy of the Ebay sales page, and print a copy of your Pay Pal statement showing that you paid her.

They will track it and show that it was sent to the wrong address. They might also contact the address where the package was sent and see if they know what is going on.

What exactly does the seller say when presented with the tracking info?

Seller doesn't respond.

by the way, there's no way I found to provide more information in this Paypal Case.

In the email it says this:
"
> Please do not reply to this email. This mailbox is not monitored and you
> will not receive a response. For assistance, log in to your PayPal account
> and click the Help link located in the top right corner of any page. If
> your inquiry is regarding a claim, log in to your PayPal account and go to

We have ways to make Pay Pal respond. Here are their internal phone numbers. The 800 numbers are under the FAQ section, first section are the direct numbers to everyone in the company.

I don't have any helpful suggestions, but I want to wish you good luck.

I was ripped off as a seller. The buyer hijacked someone else's PayPal account. After I'd sent the item, PayPal reversed the payment so I had no item and no money. Even though it was their security that failed, PayPal refused to do anything about it and wouldn't communicate except by form emails. I have since stopped using PayPal as a seller.

I just got off the phone with another buyer who bought $1800 worth of books from the same scam artist.

He hasn't seen them to date and has also filed a Paypal complaint

For this seller, Justice is coming, rest assured!

Get everyone together and contact the police. Parker is a smaller town SE of Denver and you may have to contact the sheriff's office but the more the better.

Here is the contact info for the Parker law enforcement

http://www.parkeronline.org/police/safety_services.aspx

UPDATE Just called the Parker police. OnRamp, you need to file a police report in your local area. Request that they send a copy to the Parker Colorado police and request immediate action to stop this person from selling and defrauding anyone. As well, since the package was sent through the Post office, contact them with your info and say the magic words "mail fraud" and they will take it from there.

If you want to call them, 303 841 9800.
