What will be the goals of our socialist society?

* A life free of exploitation, insecurity, poverty; an end to unemployment, hunger and homelessness.

* An end to racism, national oppression, anti-Semitism, all forms of discrimination, prejudice and bigotry. An end to the unequal status of women.

* Renewal and extension of democracy; an end to the rule of corporate America and private ownership of the wealth of our nation. Creation of a truly humane and rationally planned society that will stimulate the fullest flowering of the human personality, creativity and talent.

Communist Party USA

Liberals/progressives=socialists/communists...They now hide behind the former terms, but they are identical to communists and fascists ideologically...The language has changed into code...you know, they know (communists and socialists) and politicians know what they suggest.

CamB 09-15-2005 04:34 PM

And what did the Communist Party poll in the last election? Are they the same as the Democrats?

The questions on the political compass site appear to be biased to you because you are biased. Someone similarly biased to the left would find the exact same questions to be right biased.

Your criticism is answered in the very first FAQ on their site...

And you should be happy with the political compass - it shows Fascism as "up" (not left right) - Hitler and Stalin are as fascist as each other - but Hitler has less communism.

Can't you just read it and think about it, rather than denigrating it because it doesn't immediately fit your predetermined view of the world. The two axis model is pretty elegant, although it makes your black/white assertion pretty hard to live with I suppose.

Pretty close, Cam...pretty close. :D

Mulhollanddose 09-15-2005 04:43 PM

Cam, the first question is If economic globalisation is inevitable, it should primarily serve humanity rather than the interests of trans-national corporations....Dude, is that question not loaded?

It is impossible to answer the question accurately...Some think that trans-continential corporations do not act against humanity, but the question leads the test taker to thinking somehow they are mutually exclusive...Any answer would have to agree to the premise, which is false...Many, not all, of the rest of the questions are similarly framed.

You love these questionable websites like widipedia and political compass.com...Surely you will enjoy snopes?

The latter point is applicable in this case. The Communist Party USA (CPUSA) has chosen not to field their own candidate in the 2004 presidential election. Since the CPUSA would be classified as a party of the "far left," their platform is more likely to mesh with that of — and thus they are more likely to support the candidate of — the Democratic Party, the more leftward of the two major political parties.

I used the color red for you Cam :D Snopes

I agree with two presented before: personal responsibility and rampant consumer spending.

I agree.

I can't be bothered arguing about it.

New fact - I live in a country with more than two political parties for whom people vote. On that basis alone, I feel I observe a far greater political spectrum than you can.

Accusing wiki of being questionable is inconsistent with a belief in democracy, but I'll leave you to think about it.

There are four options in each political compass question - what would you answer to the question you have a problem with? And how can you have a problem with it if you have no idea how it is reflected in the final answer?

And my biggest freakin problem with what you've said about it - is there another question you have a problem with, or is it just the one?

Oh yeah - so what if the communist party says "vote Democrat". It is about as relevant as a Nationalist party (do you have them?) saying "vote Bush".

What is America's biggest problem?

You mean problems:

The Christian right.
The NRA.
The Military-industrial complex.
The trade deficit.
Rampant capitalism.
Narcissism.
Marginalisation.
Donald Rumsfeld.
Karl Rove.
Dick Cheney.

And ... the ... entire ... Bush ... clan.

Purge these things and the murderous jihadists will go away. Promise.

Right...they are all exactly alike...Dude, you need to do your homework. This is a Christian nation and that is precisely why we are so peaceful, generous, caring and welcoming of all cultures who respect and appreciate our way of life...According to your reasoning George Washington, James Madison, John Adams and majority of the rest of the founders should have been stopped.

Unions

:)

(Nobody has said that in a long time)

Newsflash, Edited. -Z-man Al Qaeda declared jihad on us LONG before Bush had eyes for the whitehouse. Al Qaeda/radical islam is the source of terrorism, not Bush, or us as Americans.
