I know...you just want things to be "fair" and stop picking on the poor downtrodden conservatives. Believe me, I've let quite a few rude, crude, and vicious posts from conservatives left standing. I tried to use a bit of humor with the whole "assclown" comment. Mea culpa...

I only try to step in when it appears to *me* to be mean spirited. I found some of the posts in the deleted thread (including a few of yours ) to be incredibly vituperative and mean spirited. And I had complaints from people. So poof it went.

You will notice that I didn't poof this or edit your "assclown" comment, I merely indicated that it wasn't what I was trying to get at. But you knew that too...

I never once addressed CC in the entire thread.....but she continually posted personal remarks about me. Even after I tried to get the discussion back on track. She continued to do so...(but I guess that is ok, because she really cannot be expected to debate at the same level as the guys...right? Then DD posted that I had asked if she swallowed...which was clearly a lie (possibly a mistake)...and I called him on it...but he has not had the decency to respond....or admit he misquoted me. Don't lecture me for pointing out the big difference between what is allowed for one side...but not the other.

I for one am happy the thread existed. Without it, I would have never known I was a liberal and infatuated with CC. Being out of the closet is liberating and I thank my PPOT brothers for helping me see the light.

You know, it's funny though... It was a risque exchange, but 928Ram never did ask CC to stop with the strap-on business. More of a back & forth exchange. And after a few exchanges, it was dropped. Some seem to ignore that little piece of history.

Here's an idea... It wasn't about name calling. It was about a crude verbal sexual attack, which continued repeatedly after the attackee requested it to stop.

And how just how in the hell did this become a liberal vs. conservative argument? What, is Mulholland a liberal? Or, do we wish to ignore that too?

I usually think that you are misguided, but fair... but that is just a cop-out. These posts are not from "one side of the fence"...these are all against me...personally. And a very small sample of many (I'm sure others could show you the same). I pointed out two from CC last night where she actually called out my name in the post...how is that not personal?. Why no lecture there? It does not matter what goes on "on the other side of the fence." I did not call these folks names...nor did I call anyone names last night...I am expected to take this crap ...and then I get lectured because I spoke in generic terms about people who dish it out but cannot take it. Put the thread back and point out the error of my ways instead of this generalization. Heck, I don't even read CC's posts. I have her on ignore..and have since she first started posting here...because reading them is just a waste of time...and all her sexual innuendo disgusts me....and you guys just enable her. Personally, where I come from, a lady doesn't say fck this and fck that...and talk about using a strap-on..then expect to be treated like anything but what she has indicated she is....Much less go whining to daddy when someone calls her on it.

I agree, Skip. I too am glad that thread existed. It shows what the hell some people are about on this forum. Very shameful. I don't know CC, but I have had beers with Island, and in good friendship; came all the way down to L.A. from WA State to have those beers. Yet now he calls me "assclown" because I called him on his and others' behavior toward Cool Chick - not in defense, but in acknowledgement that it was wrong.

Fintstone I have had good written conversation with as well, whether politics or Porsches. I've invited Fint to stop by when he's next in L.A. But he too calls me an "assclown."

These are men I know much better than Cool Chick; men to whom I would entrust a friendship. However, the behavior in the now defunct thread was to me, tantamount to some of the ugliest and viciously focused that I have ever seen on the internet. My take was CC should simply not respond to their posts, but CC strikes me as mule-headed and eager to make points. So be it. But being in the business of words, I could read into her posts that the continual berating of her in such vulgar and uninvited sexual manners was creating unsettling effects in her demeanor. Continually, she asked, "Please stop," and the behavior continued. Today, I received a PM with samples of the thread - "swallow" being prominently displayed in each sample. The poster who sent me the PM thanked me for attempting to interject some reason into the thread to get those who attacked CC to back off.

His one word that jumped out at me in his statement was "Disturbing," which it indeed was.

You speak of your wife being a lawyer. I also know a few lawyers. I'm not married to one, but in my business, I still need to know a few quite well. I also know some of those lawyers are Porsche fans and being Porsche fans, they know of this website, and additionally, the BBS and its OT. Given that, I wonder if one or two of those lawyers have or have not read the thread that Nostatic "poofed." I wonder, if they have read the thread, if they aren't sharpening their teeth over an internet-related sexual harrassment suit against Pelican Parts - maybe not now, but sometime in the future when such a case can be adequately executed. All they had to do was save a couple pages of that thread to their hard drive. And once that was done, all they have to do now or in the future is send Cool Chick a PM...

But none of that is my problem. I'd rather get back to the subject of "friends," and how a new word for friends seems to be "assclown."

I guess it's part of that new internet lingo I have yet to fully learn.

Yes, I find it odd that she did not attack the fellows who made the sexual remark (nor did you dd)...but rather attacked those who did not. Is that a plea for help....or what? Clearly the part that she found offensive was the attack on her posts...which are fair game. Her posts were lame and I felt that she was let off too easy considering their obvious lack of meriit. Maybe Skip, who you've called "whipped" because he thought ill of your behavior, might have some proof - he seems to recall you calling CC a dumb blonde, "drunk and holding court in a bar" (sic) - I think the rest of it was. At any rate, the thread is gone - at least from our eyes. The portions of the thread that were sent to me focused on another poster. Nonetheless, since I've taken to your "Ok then. dd...you are a assclown", I really don't need to read too deeply into what is intended with that statement. The language speaks for itself.

Island - I don't make threats, particularly legal threats. I do, however, acknowledge associations and the possibilities and implications of those associations in any given situation, subject or action such as that thread. Call it from my point of view "covering one's own ass" - an inherent trait when working in the Hollywood biz. Whatever the case, I have no legal stake in any of what went on in that thread. That's for CC to decide and/or whomever of legal ability might have also read that thread and has, let us say, an open and convincing legal mind...
