I hate Walmart only because I wasn't smart enough to buy stock in the begining. if I had.. I'd be laughing all the way to the bank

I hate Walmart because they don't always have the gallon jugs of Mobil 1 in the right viscosity.

Small business thrives here. Chicago is one place where small business is successful. It's what makes this city so interesting. We don't have a whole city of stripmalls with huge chains like places such as Indianapolis.

With small business comes productive, profitable citizens and diversity. I love the diversity....

That's pretty much the Wal-Mart business model and the reason you won't find them much in urban areas. Too much competetion. You may find the occasional smaller (not Super) store in amongst some of the others like K-Mart, Target, etc., But they really play big when they can push the convenience factor. i.e, rural, one-stop shopping etc...

Dude, are you gay? ;) :D not that there's anything wrong with that. Tube tops are the best thing God created right after beer. In fact, biblical study reveals that God first created beer, then women's shirts, then saw what a hard time guys had getting these shirts off after a few beers, and with TRUE Intelligent Design applied... voila... tube tops.

the first sighting of a tube top in the Northeast is also the first day of Spring.

When properly worn, but this is the south, some girls love their fried chicken and wear spandex. The nascar crowd doesn't look good in tube tops and spandex:o

I am fairly indifferent about WalMart. Have shopped there twice and purchased anything there, only once. (I was traveling on business in the sticks and got thirsty).

If the media stories are to be believed (hmmmm), WalMart is a thinly disguised domestic sales agent for Chinese manufacturers. Obviously a massive trade imbalance combined with potentially compromised quality of goods is hard to argue as a benefit to American society.

It is however a complex equation -- clearly they employ a gazillion people. But it would be interesting to see hard figures on how much WalMart actually contributes to the GDP or tax revenues vs how much goes into corporate coffers or offshore.
