This will be a total non-event. Small cloud of grey smoke. Nothing to see here, move along.

No kidding, the nose gear casters. They will hold it off in flare as long as possible and then drop the nose. A few sparks at worst, then done.

This never would have happened if Bush was doing his job and micromanaging JetBlue...Where is FEMA?...What did he know and when did he know it?...When did Bush stop beating his wife?

Bush hates Blue Jets.

So apparently, Airbus planes can't dump fuel. . . .which is why they flew around for hours.

Does this mean that Jet Blue, because they CAN dump fuel, doesn't carry black passengers? We all know how Bush feels about black people...

Oh yeah, ze Fransh and Ze Deutsch engineers forgot to include a fuel jettison feature.

More like, the California EPA would not approve of 50,000 gallons of Jet-A being dumped over the LA Metro area, or out over the ocean. To say nothing of depriving the PAX of a ride at $6/gallon.

They were probably cycling the gear continuously during that short segment to see if they could get it to properly retract, and they would then continue on to JFK, where the maintenance hangar is. No kidding: the A320 is so sophisticated, the computer (and ACARS to management) would tell you that. Emergency resovled: proceed direct JFK.

Kudos to the (non-union) aviators up front, who earned it today. Blue side up, gentlemen.

It had to have been the dutch engineers that got it right.

Here's the funny part. Because they didn't get to destination or alternate, they wont get paid for the trip. They will get an hourly rate, but is the same as standing in the terminal waiting to depart.

The old joke is that we only get paid for the bad days, but in reality, we don't.

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years.
