I am equally shocked that a member of this BBS would threaten spitting upon another member....and others would find it funny. Did some of you grow up without parents???

Once again jack ball, you brought up spitting. I think you are a wussy who is preoccupied with spit and spitting.

I am not gonna sit here on the BBS and threaten to kick the worlds ass like you flint. LMAO

I dont care if you wear a uniform. a jack ball is a jack ball is a jack ball. no matter what he wears, no matter who he voted for. and from the attitude you display in most of this post. I think you need a lugie in the face.

its all good flint,
it might be good for you. like OMG after I got that lugie in the face my entire world changed. Then a few years after that you can be sitting around with your buddies and be like. Hey guys rember the time I got a lugie in the face?? then all have a good laugh.

Thanks!!

Thank you. Yes, it seems that these folks are much different when they have a huge majority. It is obviously much more difficult to attend college in uniform than to wear one around the base.
I have had teachers tell me that they have lowered my grade (specifically because of my uniform). I'm sure others did the same without saying a word. It is particularly difficult for ROTC students who must wear the uniform on campus and endure the throngs of protesters (most of who are not students) and the ridicule of the faculty. They cannot even defend themselves...as they have very high standards for grades and discipline/behavior.
Bad as it is on campus, the current protests attacking GIs at the veteran's hospitals are worse.

I am gonna say that most of that is BS talk

I think Flint has PMS (poor me syndrome)

I was in ROTC never had a problem at school. I doubt they lowered your grade based on what you were wareing though, it may have more to do with the quality of the work you turned in JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE.

wearing a uniform does not make you special flint.
I wonder if you are somewhat autistic.

The ****tin thing of it is this. if you hate protesters so much, just ignore them ok. or should we all get down and kiss your butt just because you wear a uniform.

whatev

You are the one who threatened spitting on me. Guys like you do not spit in one's face. It is always in the back.

First of all, i don't know what a jack ball is....but if it is someone who would become greatly annoyed if some punk spit in their face...then yes, I am one.

Yes it would be good to get it in the face although that would require a bit more nads than most liberals have. In July I had something similar happen and the guy will never be able to spit the same again. I enjoyed it immensely. He thought that being with two other guys would save his butt. They just watched....then carried him away. And yes, my buddies thought it was great. One Colonel even made a sign to put on my door to commemorate the occasion.
Yeah...its all good.

...

I doubt you spent much time in ROTC (or college for that matter)..or else you would have a clue and be a bit more respectful to others. Besides, I imagine that Nebraska is a bit more hospitable to the military than other places.
All I know is that was how the professor explained giving a B to me when I had a 100% average.
It really does not matter....I still finished both my undergrad and grad school with honors. Did you finish at all? or was that junior ROTC?

I resent being threatened by folks that are younger than my children. It is that simple. Take it as you will...but try spitting in your Dad's face and see how well he takes it. Maybe you will need to adjust his attitude too.
Spitting on someone is considered assualt in most places. You assault someone....and you get what you get.

you have to read all the comments before you make a comment. I guess reading is not your thing huh.

Mulhollanddose 09-24-2005 11:14 AM

I deserve a little more credit than that...Little reading perhaps, possibly selective reading...but at least some reading I deserve credit for.

Your comments are reprehensible.

Fint, I wanted to have a serious discussion with you about what's happened to you, but Mul piped up, you took the bait, and you went even deeper into spitting anger. So I give up.

Look, I've been around for 42 years, so my memory extends to about the mid-1970s, much of which was spent living in coastal US cities which you would probably describe as liberal (Seattle, SF, LA, NYC/NJ, abroad). If spitting on uniformed soldiers had become a common liberal pastime, I think I'd have noticed it. I haven't.

I think, fint, that you live in your own perceived world. After 50 or 60 years of life, whatever it is, you seem to have developed an unusual view of the world which I would describe as bitter, resentful, defensive, superior, entitled, prickly, and phobic. And you seem to despise about two-thirds of the American population (let's start with Democrats, liberals, anyone who voted for Kerry, the 53% of Americans who consider the Iraq war a mistake, and the 67% who disapprove of Bush's handling of the war). Poll data: http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/09/19/bush.poll/

Perhaps you indeed experienced unjustified incidents in the 1970s (which is what you first said) or in the present (which you seem to now be saying). Perhaps. This is the internet where anyone can claim anything. Or perhaps you consciously or unconsciously attract real or imagined hostility by your attitude (see descriptive list above).

Anyway, the world you think you live in is certainly different from mine. I like mine better. There is less anger and hate, freedom of speech isn't equated to treason, and there are things to talk and post about other than how much we adore Bush.

Go forth into your rainstorm of liberal spittle. I'm headed to the mountains.

skipdup 09-24-2005 12:16 PM

slackjaw- I'm confused... Did you originally get mad because you thought fint wanted to spit on troops? Or, were you mad because you think he thinks people (i.e. war protesters) would spit on troops?

At first I thought he was saying that he approves of spittin on troops.

After reading more of this thread, I see that he thinks people with a diffrent mindset than his want to spit on the troops.

So thats what got me going at first.

Spitting on a person, in uniform or not is wrong period! Its sick and demented. I do not wish that apon anyone. However, I do still think that Flint has a bad attitude. I think he acts like he is the only one on this board that bad things have ever happened to.

I honestly cannot believe you. It is amazing. Because you have lived in liberal cities...you profess to know what goes on with other folks who live there that you have almost nothing common with. How ludicorous! How many hours a day do you hang out with military folks in uniform? Do you know what it is like to be a policeman, fireman, doctor, or even a prostitute...or how they are treated when you are not around? It is amazing that you can dismiss my experience as fiction...just because you have never seen it...in places you never go...with people you have never met. Additionally, you imply that somehow my story has changed...but a simple search would show that I have posted the same....several times before. "70's heck...Both me and my dauighter have had it happen quite recently.

I really don't understand why you guys refuse to argue a point, but just imply the other guy is somehow lying or stupid...or have some sort of deep-seated psychological problem if they do not agree with you?

Oh..and your "analysis" is worth exactly what I paid for it. Nothing. If you cannot understand how a person would be annoyed at being spit on..have their family members spit on...or having someone threaten to spit on them....you are the one who needs analysis.

All this talk of spitting aside - and getting back to the original topic - is anyone really surprised that Mr. Talabani is pleading for US Troops to continue to prop him up?

On the contrary...Mr. Talabani was not pleading for troops to back him up. He was showing his country's solidarity with the US (as opposed to the lefty view that we are an army of occupation and unwelcome) and thanking the American people for their sacrifice. Additionally, he was pointing out how important it is for all civilized people to stand together against terrorism...something that seems to escape many of our own leaders....even some who claim to be conservatives.

I guess it really comes down to who you want to run Iraq. This man (elected by his people) and the other elected representatives or Al Zaqawi/Bin Laden and their terrorists.
