Can you afford it?

The say if you have to ask....you can't afford it. Well, can you afford it?

Only a GD FOOL doesn't ask how much...and the old saying a fool and his money are soon parted is true!

People who are very wealthy are usually very CHEAP. Take Billy Gates for instance....He was in LV and was playing 3/6 Holdem.at the Mirage...he refused to tip the Dealer when he won a pot....when he left he called over the Manager and said he wasn't going to be playing cards at the Mirage anymore, because he refused to be responsible for providing a living wage for the Dealers....in other words the Mirage should pay better so that the Dealers wouldn't need to be tipped out of his pocket.

Those that have made it or are making really big bucks it are usually NOT cheap. It is those in preservation mode.

My first real job out of college was at Harry Winston in NY. Some of the classist and nicest people I have ever met were buying stuff there. Those just window shopping were usually insufferable snobs.

I once talked to an heir of the McDonald Douglas Co....He was a Douglas and his comment was, " Rich people drive RR's and the WEALTHY drive VW Busses."

Did you ever see a picture of the Kennedys driving anything more than what a Middleclass person coud afford....

Real money is very frugal believe me.....and thats how they got the money in the first place.

Gates is just oblivious to reality. Those actions, is true, merely demonstrat he is an a$$. Does he really think that not tipping the dealer will change how the industry pays its employees. I wouldn't think someone so ignorant could be so successful.

Wasn't Microsoft started with his $2 million trust fund? He may have worked his way to the top, but he was never near the bottom either.

Animal, vegetable, or mineral?

I had an Insurance/Investment agent by the name of Harry....now Harrys daughter married the son of the guy who owned the Indanapolis Pacers Basketball team. The family at the time was worth 200M $$$, and the guys wife was always complaining about never having enough money...if we only had a little more....we could do this......or that...

Every cent on my credit card right now can be directly attributed to the purchase, repair, and use of my 951...

I'm not worthy...

That's why I want a 968, not too many hot rod parts for them.

Pure cheese:

Robert Kiyosaki says
Ask yourself how you can afford it.
NOT
Don't buy something you can't afford.

I'm still young and naive, but I personally believe you have attained wealth when you can afford to buy, but you don't. Material possessions are not so important. Well, a Ferrari or two is nice.

My wife and I bring in decent income, but we also have quite high overhead.

A 500k mortgage takes a big chunk off the top.....

We are quite frugal. We don't live on the cheap, but we also don't blow money on things we don't need. Although my wife seems to 'need' $400 Feragamo shoes......just like I 'need' SSIs

Making low six figures in Los Angeles and putting a daughter through college doesn't leave a lot left. My sister just bought a house in Carlsdab, New Mexico, for $115k ten years old and about 2200 sq. ft. with a pool on the back of the local golf course. She makes 1/2 of what I make and has more to show at the end of the day. One problem is that the Federal tax codes don't consider your cost of living where you live, just how much you earned. Granted you can write off your mortgage interest, but you have to spend a buck to save 35 cents in taxes.
