In response to a coupla other posts...

America is, IMHO, the biggest and bestest not primarily because of its form of govt (which exists elsewhere) but because of its sheer size, bounty of natural resources and (relative) underpopulation. Having the US$ as the defacto world currency has to help too...

I reckon Australia fits that category too - need more money? Dig a bigger hole and extract some more minerals

Nah. Bush is doing great considering the challenges he has had to face. Most folks just do not realize how difficult it is to make changes in a culture where many votes are bought with handout programs. Even when you are in power, it is difficult to do anything without turning some pig from the trough. When you do, that piggy will do everything in its power to elect someone who will let him back at the trough...regardless of whatever other policies they are pushing. The Democrats don't have a clue about foreign or domestic policy, defense, etc....but they sure know how to buy votes. If Bush allows a significant number to be "bought"...as soon as there is another election....all the good accomplished will be turned around again.

From what I've read, the Republicans (lead by Delay) are just as guilty as buying votes as any Democrat ever was. It appears there is a reason there is so much pork in all the bills going through Congress - it is payback for past support.

The definition of a "lib" to these people are those who think Bush is doing a poor job. So you know what this means, 3/4 of the country are "libs" now.

Oh they must be writhing in pain with the knowledge that 3/4 are "libs."

The polls are fluid and presently reflect coverage...The coverage has ignored the economy and focused on the negative in Iraq...A majority of the population do not have the time or inclination to make sure the media is reporting accurately...Which they have not been.

Remember this moment ... you are witnessing the beginning of the end of the Republican monopoly. This administration's hubris, incompetence and greed has done for the Republican Party what Bill Clinton's libido and sleazy fundraising did for the Democrats.

I wish the only thing to clean up this time was a dress.
