Thats Not a Cat Dad!

Spent a long weekend on the farm for harvest. The kids (and momma) needed a combine fix - 10 hrs up, 10 hrs back. G\during the visit, my son went to gat a handful of cat chow for the barn cats (no wonder the darn things are lousy mousers - gett'n to fat on chow). Max stuck his hands in the bag, pulled back and promptly stated, "Dad! Theres a cat in the bag thats not a cat!"

(Max wanted to shot it, but in that last pic he is actually shotting apples off a post with his BB gun - momma wanted to kill the critter but I let it have it's freedom.)

I think he'd probably want a small .22 instead. And I'd have shot the sucker. It'll probably come back looking for more free food.

Crossmen 760 - we never put more than 5 pumps. Yup, everyone want to kil it but Emmy and me. Can't blame a critter for wanting free chow. My Father-in-law teased me saying I was get'n liberal on him!

I got my Crossman 25 years ago as a kid, and the damn thing still shoots quite well. I've just started letting my 9 and 7 yr old shoot it. They love it. Me? I've got my eye on a nice Beeman in the future.

Note:
I found my dad's BB gun in my Grandmom and Grandfather's house--powered by SURGICAL TUBING. From the late 40's... Bought some new tubing--fun to use! I'll post a pic the next time I'm over there.

He needs one of these:

That sucker is lazer beam accurate on anything inside 100-120 yards or so, and is deadly on small game.

Ah yes... The 760. had one back in the day. Bent the barrel so I sawed it off and put a pistol handle on it. Couldnt hit a barn but looked real mean.

Yep AR-15, this is my nephew and his dad bought him a BB gun this year for x-mas (much to his mother's chagrin). He was afraid to shoot the "Army gun" as he called it, yet when he finally did it he put three rounds in the bullseye at 35 yards in a 3/4" group!

I am the "bad" uncle who teaches the kids to ride minibikes, fly planes, shoot guns, use power tools etc etc. I know my job is done when I hear these kids begging for a minibike as they get in their parents minivan to go home!

My crazy Czech buddy once trapped a possum in his yard in a home made box trap. He was just going to shoot it but his wife insisted he set it free. So, he carried the trap out and up the road, and let the possum out next to a hedge so it could dissapear into the brush. Instead, it elected to cross the road and got flattened by the neighbor in her mini-van. Must be heriditary or something.

How about a Beeman. I have had the R1 for about 10 years now and WOW! What a air-gun. 950fps in a .177 Cal. Botter than a 22 (ie. quiet!). I tried many "air gun" scopes but the recoil kept braking the cross hairs. So I put a Lupold Scope on it so nothing is safe. Pretty pricy though.
