Wow, horrible weather here!

SoCal had almost their entire winter last night.

I think it rained for almost an hour and a half straight. Gawd, I am tired of it raining.

I think it's global warming; we need to make some more stupid laws. I think all lawn chairs on patios should be required to demonstrate a 20 knot gust without being blown over, endangering the potted perennials.

I think there should be federal legislation drafted to prevent ruining just-paid-for car washes before at least a month.

Car covers should be mandated waterproof only after a presidential emergency declaration.

No one here knows how to drive when the windsheilds are wet.

I just heard a woman asking if it's true that you need to replace her wipers every 15 years...... and the clerk telling her there were no more wipers for sale in any size in California since 9am this morning.

I love it here.

There is a rumor that it might rain again tonight.

Good thing all those socker mom's are driving SUV's, otherwise there would be turmoil on the streets. Oh wait.....already is.

I think we need to have a truckload of wipers pre-positioned by FEMA at all times here.

Blonde in a SUV loses control in the rain and hits the "ON Star" button.
Blonde: I've lost control of my SUV what should I do?
On Star : First thing to do is to steer into the skid.
Blonde: I don't see a skid, how 'bout a Starbucks?

In the Northeast, we didn't see the sun for 8 days. Most of it was rain. This is not the Northwest, we didn't bargain for such dreary weather. The rivers are starting to back down from flood stage.

Does that make you feel better?

We Californians love to piss and moan about the weather whenever it isn't perfect. It makes us feel sooooo abused and eases our guilt for the rest of the year.

With all the news coverage about gulf coast hurricanes and flooding in the northeast, it's easy to forget that Southern California has its share of devastating weather also.

Check out the damage caused by a wild west coast storm which recently passed through Los Angeles (photo attached.) It really makes you cherish what you have, and reminds us not to take life for granted!!!

Ummm, no. What you went through we've gone through for years. Plus, we have wildfires that sometimes burn to the sea. After that come the rains which dislodge the burned hills and create mudslides. A whole town near Santa Barbara disappeared in a mudslide.

So things can be worse. You could live here...

Singpilot...isn't it kind of ironic? You live on a sailboat 8 months out of the year and yet you get edgy when there's a little bit of water on the ground? A true Californian you are!

My poor SC spent last week in the rain outside of Philadelphia waiting to get shipped to cloudless rainless Colorado. Hopefully there is not a swimming pool in there because of the leaky windshield gasket, and hopefully it started when they loaded it onto the truck today!

Car alarms in LA have a "Gangsta" mode on them now. It's sorta like the "Valet" mode where as loud stereos and automatic gunfire won't set them off.

We are really being hit hard here in Orange County. Last night the wind shifted for about ten minutes and the rain blew on the window. Now we have rain drop stains on the windows!

Actually, this was supposed to be a tribute to our pelican friends where it DOES rain all the time, or too much all at once, or waaaaaay too much when a female comes ashore.

The boat is actually clean top to bottom for the first time in a long time. The accumulated dust and salt in the rigging finally stopped coming down about an hour ago. I always get a minute or two's warning when the DISH goes silent as the thunderstorm approaches.

I ran the heat for the first time last night. Winter is here.

Donner, blitzen, and 1/4" hail here. But the hills will get green and it takes a bite out of fire season. Enjoy!
