Dude, if you take her and she likes it, she will end up purchasing one. Now, fast forward,

kids are curious + some women are a little scattered (as well as men) + firearm in the house + you not around = disaster.

Did you teach her how to change a tire?

Does she know how to use a fire extinguisher?

Why didn't you teach her before?

No more no less. If you still care for her safety, either teach her yourself or send her to a class. When she decides she is ready, help her get one. I see this as an obligation, not a "date". I have taken every g/f and every friend I have had to the range. I wouldn't consider leaving someone I care about unable to protect themselves.

You know your ex better than any of us here. If she is mature and emotionally stable, I see no reason why you shouldn't teach her to shoot. Know the "risks" (or maybe rewards?) others have suggested about spending time with her.

If she is now a single woman living alone with the child, she is more vulnerable to becoming a victim of a crime than before. Knowledge about firearms (even if she doesn't actually own one) can only make her, and your son, safer.

I remember years ago when I found out (and he found out about the same time) that the girl I was boning was also boning this other guy. Lester was his name. So I did the only logical thing. I invited him to go hunting with me. We had a good time. Got the Land Cruiser stuck. Had beers and whiskey. It's a guy thing, for those of you who don't understand.

Don't know what happened to the girl, but she'd boink anywhere. Parking lots, picnic tables, anywhere.

She handed my a$s to me when we went to the range. She has a super nice, customized ParaOrdnance P-12 and was a range master at the NRA years ago. I just got an email from her a few minutes ago and she let her FFL expire!!! Damn!!!! I was hoping to use her FFL for an out of state purchase. Now I will have to pay a shop. No more photos on this computer. May have some at home.
