take an ex to the range?

OK...here's an interesting one. Discussing my new hobby with my ex, and she expressed interest in blowing some holes in paper targets. I was somewhat surprised, but another part of me wasn't as she used to really like doing explosion demos in chem lab/lecture.

The divorce is farily amicable, just sorting the last bits of paperwork. Still the occasional flare up, but mostly pleasant.

So would you take your ex to the range and teach her how to shoot? :p

Now, let's hope Kevin doesn't see this...

alf 10-21-2005 09:56 AM

Nope. Being a gun owner carries social baggage that i would not want to mix in with divorce.

Are you crazy?

I think it's somewhere in the safety booklet they give you..........no Ex.

Is this a trick question?

Rot 911 10-21-2005 10:00 AM

Todd, I say no, but not for the reasons stated. No doubt your marriage is the stuff of soap operas. While you want to stay on a civil basis with the ex for the sake of your child, her asking to go shooting with you is just another way of her ****king with your mind. Nice then *****. Nice then *****. See the pattern here?

pbs911 10-21-2005 10:06 AM

There is a reason you divorced her. Unless you have kids together there is no reason t oever even see her again.

And no, I would not do anything with my ex let alone put a loaded weapon in her hands with me standing next to her.

nostatic 10-21-2005 10:10 AM

interesting responses. I figure this would be the trend, but the question came up, so I figured why not put it to the pelicans.

We do have a kid, so there will always be a "relationship" necessary between the two of us. We actually get along rather well except on a few fronts that distinguish a friendship from a marriage.

Kurt, the nice then nuts thing has been a bit of a pattern. What is frustrating is that you want to give someone the benefit of the doubt and see the good, but it invariably ends up being somewhat like a yoyo.

OK...how about taking a current g/f to the range?

Now that is a whole 'nother question. It's like taking them motorcycle riding. Something about the range and riding seems to get them, shall we say, a bit aroused.

Only if it makes her real hot and want to do you in the parking lot.

Sex trumps common sense.............we are all proof of that.:D

DonDavis 10-21-2005 10:17 AM

Todd, dood,

I wouldn't do it. Just let your lives go on and keep the contact/discussions about your son.

If you start hanging out together, you'll have sex with her again.

I'm serious.

Reminds me of a bumper-sticker I saw "I miss my ex-wife, but my aim is improving"

targa911S 10-21-2005 10:40 AM

Todd .. PUT THE CRACK PIPE DOWN!

Ok Read this sentance and tell me what you see wrong. This is a test.

TEACH YOUR EX WIFE HOW TO USE A GUN.

Ready ....GO!

Not always...some women are terrified of bikes. Usually the ones who've had a class in stats.

arcsine 10-21-2005 11:06 AM

sorry todd, but you are talking crazy talk.

You need to go thrash the car at Willow to get all the divorce/re-org/4-Runner/Subaru/Triumph/baby-sitter issues out of your head for a while.

LOL! No *****!

Todd - I say do it. What's the matter with you guys? Divorce doesn't mean Todd and his ex can't be social...

It's not like they're going to shoot each other.
