I always try to make eye contact with drivers. If I can't see that they've seen me, I assume that either they didn't see me, or that they did see me and are trying to hit me.
It occurs to me that pedestrians didn't always used to be such a**holes. Not you, of course, I mean those idiots who don't even bother to look before stepping into traffic. I remember my Dad ranting about these people when I was very young -- he said that it hadn't been like that, even a few years earlier. He commented specifically on a kid who had sauntered lazily out into traffic, then made eye contact with the cars (drivers), as if to say, "My time is more important than yours, and I can stop you just by stepping out into the street. Suckers."

She may have been on a cell and doing her make-up in the rear view at the same time. These types of prob's started happening way back when they were allowed to wear shoes.

Seriously, you did the right thing. Now if she knicked you with the bumper thats a different story. |
