Arrow STOCK......what is gonna be "hot"?

Thinking of the future...what stocks in your opinion will be the next good stock to purchase?

Fire away.

You need to think of what your objectives are. Growth? Stability? Income? Favorable Tax status? Short term hold VS long term? I've always liked the Berkshire Hathaway if you like to buy, hold and just look at annual statements.Get rich slow and spend more time with your Porsche.

GSIC just got beat up and lost 25%. Trading at 15.67 now. Solid company and I'll bet they're back up towards 20 by Xmas. They run outsourced e-commerce websites for a bunch of major retailers.

Another favorite: CTRN. Almost doubled since the IPO in May. Small chain of discount stores selling urban fashion hip-hop gear in the southeast. Big expansion plans. It's at 27.30 now, but short term will depend on how Holiday goes.

I own just one stock that has been up since the day I bought it: PSEPF (aka Porsche AG). I bought it last year at $634 on a dip and I have been in the black ever since. They say "Buy what you know" and so I did. The introduction of the Cayman really excited me about prospects for the future as well as the the return to prototype racing. The VW deal worries me a bit. But even after the stock sank from the VW news (currently $735) it is still way above what I paid for it. So I have no worries.

BTW - If we all buy enough Porsche stock, then maybe we can demand that they run an LMP1 at Le Mans with Pelican livery!

Anybody watch Jim Cramer on TV? I'm wary of his stock advice but I think he is hilarious. That said, he is very bullish in Latin America and bearish on US stock in general which actually makes sense to me.

EDIT FOR CLARITY: I own more stocks than just Porsche. But Porsche is my only position that has never been in the red.

ok, I'll play. My two top stocks so far this year are AMLN and GNBT

AMLN: Small biotech with new diabetes drug out. I bought around $18 about 3 months ago, ran all the way to $39 yesterday where I sold it. Has since dropped on lower than expected earnings and is currently around $34. I am going to see if it drops into the mid/high 20s and buy some more. Good long term hold IMHO, just got ahead of itself.

GNBT: Super risky penny stock. Also small biotech with oral spray insulin product. Has a subsidiary that is working on an avian flu vaccine. Bought at $.69 about a month ago, currently trading around $1.20. Run up is mostly about the avian flu thing so I am going to have my finger on the eject button if it really shoots up. The oral insulin is the long term prospect though.

I own several other more conventional stocks and have about 60% of my assets in index funds to provide some stability. I am staying away from real estate stocks altogether because I really think the bloom is off that rose. DHI is a home builder I owned this year, sold it for a 15% gain or so a few months ago. If it drops down into the low $20s I might buy it again...

I have my eye on Anhaueser-Busch (BUD). It has been beaten down recently. $40.57 today with 2.66% dividend yield. PEG Ratio is high compared to other stocks I've been viewing. I don't know how low this stock will dip. To be honest, I have done virtually no research on this company, but I think it will rebound. How's that for speculation?

If you are looking for a home run/strike out type pick, I would give serious consideration to shorting TOL, KBH, or other homebuilder. I think these stocks will continue to tank as the housing market returns from the high atmosphere. TOL sits at $34.70, KBH is $61.37. If TOL rebounds to $37, anyone wanna jump with me?

I've made a few bucks off of BUD over the years. Won't make you rich, but it does pay....
Besides, i grew up next to the brewery so it's nostalgic for me...

Penny stock OTC trading play: PLKC $0.008

Planetlink Communications; GPS tracking services. It's a wild ride, in the downward direction right now. PLKC is an extremely dangerous stock to trade; don't play with it with money you can't afford to lose. They're seeking shareholder approval to increase authorized shares from 800 million to 1.5 billion! They closed at 8/10 of a cent today. They can jump up massive percentages when they release news (that's the reward that comes with the risks).

Pink sheet winner : HLSH $4.05

HealthSouth; they ended up on the pink sheets after massive accounting fraud was exposed in 2003. They almost ended up in bankruptcy, but avoided it. They'll probably be relisting on the NYSE or NASDAQ in 2006. They'll be a triple from here, but you may have to live with some volatility. There's a good chance they may do a reverse split before relisting; that could be a good time to buy.

Alright, if you guys are gonna bring in the big dogs for speculation, I will throw mine in the mix: hedgestreet.com

I put in $250 about 1 month ago. My account has $491 now. It requires active trading (not fire and forget). Its just fun money.
