I was out there at a DE the weekend they piled the dirt up, blocking our front straight. For those not familiar with Pacific Raceways, the road course front straight is the drag strip return road. Because it was blocked, we were re-routed onto the strip itself. Not a big deal, unless it is raining, which it was. Those of you that have tried to drive on wet VHT (drag racing's sticky traction compound) when it is wet probably know how that went. Lots of folks left early to avoid wrecking their cars. Some weren't as lucky and went home early because they wrecked their cars. The PCA pays thousands for a day out there and this was totally unannounced. My hat's off to Ryan and all that, but the dirt could have waited a day. End of rant. Sorry.
