only 3 years until I can buy a Quarter Midget
About 6 months ago I ran into a guy in a parking lot who had this little tiny racecar in the back of his pickup. He also had a couple of kids in tow. I asked him about the car, and he said it was a "quarter midget". Somewhat intrigued, I made a mental note to check into this as my 9-month-old son gets older.
A few weeks later, at a Porsche DE at Pueblo Motorsoprts Park in Colorado, I noticed a lot of cars showing up at the end of the day for a different event....a Quarter Midget event. I watched the event, and it was a blast. The track is really little. Maybe 100' across or something. But these kids are REALLY racing. Rubbing tires, bumping fenders, etc. It was much more entertaining than watching most of the DE run groups (mine included, I suppose). Anyway, I am counting down the days until I can buy one of these car for my son. I’ve heard that these kids can start at age 4 1/2. Anyone on this forum have experience with these cars? |
