oversteer on a bike that's not a dirt flat track bike is crazy (though it does look like it's just sliding under braking), but then I don't do bikes. I'd enjoy it too much, and don't trust the other idiots here in Houston. Besides, I'd hurt myself without anyone else around.

I'll be sticking with my 250 for a while. I don't feel the need to jump into the meatgrinder class just yet.

I'd love to sample a new I4 super sport to compare against the 955 triple I ride now. With the nice fat torque curve my bike is REALLY easy to ride fast but definitely lacks the knock-out punch the Jap bikes appear to have.

On second thought that might be a good thing...

this is as close as I'd want to get, few hundred hp, 10000rpm, 1100-1200 lbs, and tires the size of a bike.

Geez;

I have an '87 CBR1000F with a redline of 12000. Roll on the throttle in second gear on an onramp, and a shift at 11500 occurs at 95 MPH. 9 seconds later. Second gear. There are 6.

What more could you want?

A couple of years ago at El Mirage Dry Lake bed a guy showed up with a new Suzuki 750R, I think. that he had just broken in and changed the oil. He did 176 mph on a one mile run both ways. Street stock bike!

My '86 VFR700 gets 42 MPG, even when I ride like a lunatic.

After a couple weeks thinking about replacement bikes, BMW boxters, new Triples, I'm thinking of getting a Jap bike, specifically the 06 FZ1 or a VFR. Soul comes from the ride, not the bike. I want a bike that can do it all, and then a little bit more.

To me the amazing thing isn't the 18k redline. Bikes have done that since the 60's. But this a 600cc four stroke, WITH A WARRANTY. Thats downright amazing.

Question is why???

Having raced bikes that rav that high I don't understand their use on the street. It's a 600 it will have the torque of a 600. To get the thing going you probably have to be well above 10000 rmp. Those bikes are not my cup of tea, great on the track, lousy on the street.
