Eric Burdon.. Gratefull he is not Dead.

Last time I had an oportunity to Eric Burdon was back in 79 in Fresno.....so when he came to LV for a one night stand at the Santa Fe Station I decided to pop the $40 and go see him... I got a 3rd row seat in a sold out show.

Eric has always been a Maverick performer....maybe because of all those drugs in the 60s and 70s... Everybody who was in the audience had at least a foot in the Grave....and one couple right in front got up and left in the middle of the show I guess it wasn't the fossil rock show that they wer expecting...like I said at the begining Burdon has always been a maverick performer...however while he still is able to get some juice flowing it sure seems like he has sang "It's My Life" a 1000 times too many in every honky tonk in this land...That said he still has a voice and some creative juice left...and hes at his best when improvising on stage... To bad he didn't cover any of the War material of the early 70s.... You might say these 60s Rock and Rollers are all Gratefull that they are not Dead.

I saw him perform at the Glendale Street Fair about 6 years ago. Sounded great.

I still prefer Strobe light's beam creates dreams Walls move, minds do too On a warm San Franciscan night Old child, young child feel all right On a warm San Franciscan night. Angels sing, leather wings Jeans of blue, Harley Davidsons too On a warm San Franciscan night Old angel, young angel feel all right On a warm San Franciscan night. I wasn't born there, Perhaps I'll die there There's no place left to go San Francisco. Cop's face is filled with hate Heavens above, He's on a street called "Love" When will they ever learn? Old cop, young cop feel all right On a warm San Franciscan night. The children are cool They don't raise fools, It's an American dream, Includes Indians too.
