France?
Is the rioting/looting/burning still going on? The press seems to have dropped the story.

Hope so. I'm tired of eating snails from my backyard.

Am not that far from the area and its not stopped totally. It was down to 10 cars burned last time I heard and they said that this is considered "normal" but there was also some "token" riots in Amsterdamm, Berlin and other European capitals.
Until they fix the problem, it will keep coming back. JoeA

My mom, who's in Nice, was having dinner with a friend who's son-in-law is policeman. He estimated that about 20% of the cars were burned by their owners to collect on the insurance and gov't payments.

It'll probably be good news ultimately for the French auto industry.

Microwaving them in butter/garlic is also good. They are a lot cheaper, and do not support France.
