Gone overboard fixing MF 35 Tractor.
After seeing pictures of all the nice P-Cars, I have been infected with the detailing bug. The infection has carried over to the MF 35 Diesel tractor used for bush-hogging and mowing. It all started with a little piston slap in #3 cylinder. Then things got a little nutty. Parts were removed, powder coated, new hardware, rebuilt motor, etc. Here are some before and after pictures
![]() and after ![]() ![]() Now for the big question, will it run???

Jim,
I'm here to tell you that thing never looked that good the day it rolled out of the factory. Everything except the hood, fenders, toolbox & air stack was battleship grey. I like what you have done. You'll have a lot of fun getting fuel back through the injection system. (I'm guessing your 35 is an early '60s as it is a 3 cylinder. Dad had one, as well as an earlier 4 cylinder.) If I remember correctly, there is a bleeding valve on the injector pump. It also helps to crack open the fittings on the lines to get the air out. Hope the battery has lots of juice. Keep us posted. Les

You're not actually going to use that thing for more "bush-hogging and mowing" are you??? It's beautiful!!! Well done!

Thanks for all the kind words. Yes, the MF 35 will be a working tractor and will do the bush-hogging and mowing. May seem a little silly, but the same could be said with purchasing a new tractor and then put it into the dirt.

Very tidy. My old "Fergy" will be getting jealous. It's a petrol one that gets used for general farm work, like moving piles of fence posts around, or for feeding hay to cattle. Very reliable, nothing but oil changes, and every five years or so I change the spark plugs.

Quick update:
There was a small oil leak around the oil filter and that is now fixed. While priming the fuel system, a leak was detected around the first fuel filter. An O-ring seams to be defective. Will try another day to start the beast.

Opps...
I never post that I finished the tractor. Runs great. Of course it does not look that clean after years of mowing grass ![]()

Jim,
Glad to see the old Massey is still going! I never had the nerve to split the halves (front/back) on my old Massey. Any photos of her? Dirty and grimy are good for a tractor ;-)
