I don't have a wired phone. No Cable either.

Have been entirely cellular for several years. Lost the cable when Dish got DVR's. Am on a boat in LaLaLand, and there never was anything wired at the ranch.

Has made it easy to 'cut the cord'.

I am trying to get rid of my land line. Unfortunatly SBC requires a land line to have dsl hook up, and COX cable internet is more than the land line and SBC dsl combined. SBC has quite a scam. To have DLS you have to have a SBC land line even if you have no use for it. Some states have made it illegal for such a requirement so the internet companies do have the technology. I would love to see a class action against SBC for this scam. Humm, I do class actions. . . .

Michael, how does the dish work on the boat or do you have it mounted to the dock? Would think that the rocking of the boat would do wonders to the sat signal...

This will change. As part of the FCC approval of the merger between SBC and AT&T, the new company will be required to provide "naked" DSL within a year and it will happen sooner.

I have a cell, mom has a cell, and dad has a cell. The landline never gets answered because 99% of the time, anyone that calls is a telemarketer.

Joe;

At my age (haha) the boat doesn't rock as much as it used to.

Actually, the antenna is wide beamed enough to tolerate some movement in the slip. Works great. Originally I thought the same, and mounted the antenna to the piling. The marina made me take it down, so it went on the railing on the stern.

Michael,

At OUR age, the rocking does not happen as often or last as long, but its still one of life's great pleasures! Just ran into some Russian girls... ahhh yes. Another story for the bar.

We have sat TV on the airplane and the antenna is very accurate so was wondering. Guess the satellite transmitters have a stronger signal than the old days when it was very sensitive.
