Ecclestone sells Formula One company??
Just announced that Bernie Ecclestone and Bayern (another stockholder) will sell a majority of shares to his Formula One company to an English holding company.
Interesting to see Bernie finally at age 75 or so turning loose some control over the running of Formula One. Wonder how this will work for the sport? JoeA

Appears that Ecclestone will still be in control... however that happens. They need him to stop the manuf breakaway.

Well Ecclestone already sold the whole thing to German TV mogul Leo Kirch once and when the value of it all fell apart, Bernie bought it all back for pennies on the dollar. The guy is crafty enough to sell all his holdings but has the whole thing set up so convoluted that nobody can figure it all out. Exactly why he has the banks by the nuts too.

Just saw a special on BBC's 5th gear about McLaren's facility at Woking. Appears that there is no "off season" nor holidays, or possibly even weekends, especially during race season at McLaren! Have always heard that Ron Dennis is a tough person to work for.
The Ferarri team just left here, was in Bahrain doing winter testing for over a week. Very interesting talking with them. They feel that FIA changed the regulations to keep them from winning in 2005. I brought up that the sport needed some more competition and they agreed that it did not help that they swept the series for many years in a row but were hoping to return to the top in 2006. They were not happy at all having to go to a V-8 engine but feel that most all of the teams feel that way. Oh well, 4.5 months until the next race... Hope Spa is on the schedule this year. Joe A
