Wow, I'm actually the topic of a thread :D. The avatar was just meant for humor, and I hope no one was real offended by it. I thought that by mostly hanging around 30+ year olds you guys would've gotten a kick out of it. There is always ZOANAS's avatar (as well as jfw's). If the vote favors me putting the avatar back on by 70%, then I'll do it. If not, sorry boys. Right now it's 16 yes to 9 no.

For the record, I've got no trouble with your booty-shaking avatar, and unless you've heard differently from one of the moderators, I'd assume that it is OK for this forum.

Vinman's avatar could, or should, be considered more offensive on another level of thinking, and I've got no problem with it, either.

Someone complains about my potentially homoerogenous avatar, I'd just tell 'em, "Hey, wucknoo!"

I wonder if the complainer realized that you can disable avatars in the forum options.

37% to 62%. same as bush. like the bush popularity poll, it's probably gone down as far as it's going to go because the remainder are card carrying members of the fint and mul show.

He didn't complain, he just said that he has to ignore me because of my avatar with his work policy, and I didn't want to be on anyone's ignore list, so I took the avatar off. Clearly it's not his fault at all. Anyway, I'll see what happens tomorrow and let others chime in.

good point there....i see what you mean....when i saw wayne on a fun-run one weekend everyone was goin' on about my avatar and he was "mildly concerned" that it might be too much, but i never heard anything other than comments telling me I need to post more often ;)

maybe there should be another thread to vote on how appropriate my avatar is?? hehe

Count me in the "family friendly" avatar group. I really don't see a reason why I should have to worry about what avatar is going to pop up while my son (who is 3) and I look at the pictures of Porsches on the tech forum. I usually just have to be fast on the scroll button...he's too young to really realize what he is looking at, but I'm sure there are folks with 6-10 year olds who may find themselves having to do some 'splainin to their child after trying to read a thread on an engine rebuild.

The avatar complaint problem....bouncing boobs, jiggling buns and a few others compeletely paralyzed another board I used to frequent.

HOWEVER, The avatars were larger, better rez and the SAME arguments were hashed out over there as well. Then there were some thread hijackers that came in and posted some rather questionable photos.

Here's the solutions....

It got so bad that a significant number of regular long time posters bailed.....sorry to see a few late coming tightazzes are trying the same over here.

BTW....I have a whole stash of fun animated avatars if anyone wants them....they need to be shrunk to get loaded on PP though.....
