86 911 changed his Avatar because someone said they had to put him on their Ignore list because it wasn't work safe. I know its his Avatar, but for the good of everyone else (ok, me) I think we should give him honest feedback.

If the dumb Sheet that has trouble with an avatar at work *****es about that, he shouldn't be on this site during work time.

I say we let his employer monitor how much time he has stolen from his job surfing, and see if he feels more safe at work then.

What the internet has is a lot of hard-core pornography, but his avatar was humor, IMO. That's why I miss it.

I feel exactly the same about Vinman's, etc.... :)

I think it's kind of lame that he got rid of it for that reason.

hmmm i feel that i'm obligated to contribute to this thread. ya know, sex and humor go hand in hand very often....if one can't understand that something is supposed to just be a laugh then thats their problem! a little sexy icon isn't racist, illegal, gross, violent, "hard-core", etc.....it's intent should be clear. and jeez......i think a boss at work would be more concerned with an employee not working than some tiny 50x50 pixel icon.....

Nah, it isn't the porn aspect (IMO). It's the juvenile aspect of it.

I mean, sure, farbeit for me to argue that this site is devoid of needed juvenile content; BUT, to the average passer-by, some of these avatars make this site look like a group of kids, who just graduated from their Buzz-Lightyear jammies, and have moved all the way up to "oooohhhhh . . . boobies . .. oooohhhh"

btw, I've never complained . .. but I can see why some would rather not have those up on teir work screen.

I never liked that avatar. Not at all. Completely innappropriate. (It was way too small and moving too fast. Hard to focus. Make it bigger and slower and I'll reconsider my opposition.) ;)

Hmm, votes are 2/3, 1/3, I would have thought 99.9% for reinstating. Is Matt (86 911) seeing this? I have a 16 year old son as well, he drives a 72 Olds Cutlass.

There are some things I'd rather not have to try to explain to my 5 year old daughter. I wouldn't check out the Grid Girls thread with her in the room... that's under my control. However, if I'm reading about valve adjustments there's no telling what might scroll by. Personally, I think avatars should be work/family friendly. Just my $.02 worth.

Homer Simpson in drag would, I guess, be hard to explain to a five year old, too.

"Valve adjustment" does sound a little nasty... :D
