He-Man Women Haters Club - Newest Chapter Formed Today!
This is a shameless continuation of the "fort build" thread. The boys, busy at work were invaded by their little sisters. Needless to say they wanted nothing to do with getting the "female perspective" on their fort.
Try as I might to change the boys mind (telling them that in about 10 years they would see the error in their philosophy) I ended up bring the girls to the pond to fed turtles and catfish some old bread and left over bacon while the boys protected North Texas from Dinosaurs, Pirates of the Caribbean and something from Star Wars ep 2. The pic is priceless. I had the boys all proud and posing in front of the fort and share enough, the girls made an approach from the rear of the fort. I told them that that flank was weak! It has sense been fortified with briars and thicket. ![]() ![]()

I love it! It's like a modern Norman Rockwell moment.
P.S.: should turtles and catfish eat bacon?

The girls looking sheepishly at the boys, the two boys looking at them then the words followed. Max just looking away and shook his head at the whole thing. He gained his senses and egaged in a full frontal verbal assault.
The malie that ensued was priceless. The boys were yell'n at the girls, the girls couldn't understand why the boys didn't want them around. I treid my best to begin a piece treaty but I would have had more success in the middle beast. dd74 - as for your question "should turtles and catfish eat beacon?" I'm not sure anything should eat beacon! Max uses raw beacon, pizza and honey smoked turkey breast for bait and it actually works better than chicken livers or catfish bait you buy. Of course Mama ain't to happy when the biy raids the fridge to go fish'n but her tone has subsided after she found a tin of nightcrawlers in the crisper! "Mom! We bought'n from a lady who had'm cold in the fridge and you wouldn't want dem to die or anything would ja?"

That's priceless! I remember I had a fort when we lived in Maryland about 6-7 years ago. Me and two other of my neighbor friends decided we were about to build it out in the backyard, so we got got a wheelbarrow and hauled maybe 70 cinder-blocks and built a 3 foot wall. The holes in the cinder-blocks were prefect for hiding ammo (in our case hard berries or walnuts) to fight against "the girls" and their modern technology (plastic bats, toys, etc). Our door to our fort was a large American flag and our overlook was a small tree which we later added a wooden swing to. If a new member wanted to join, we would have them keep the fort a secret and memorize a code (in this case it was "VGD 71C" from a Texas license plate). Man those were good times! Your son's fort looks pretty sweet, especially out in the woods. What a great place for one!
