First time, Carmel. Was great.

Second time, Reno. Was better.

Third time, Acapulco. Was even better, work picked up the tab.

Fourth time, Acapulco. Was full of special memories, the best yet.

Hot Springs Arkansas and Antalya Turkey. Loved both but Turkey was excellent. All the feeling of Greece but at half the cost.

No pics here, am on the road with the laptop...

Todd, never say that there is not going to be another. You might meet the nicest lady riding on a bike today that steals your heart away!

Good friend of mine was talking like that recently. He is 56 and lives in Coronado/SD area. We met another flight crew in a Teterboro/NYC hotel lounge and as usual we were hustling the flight attendent while we watched a movie and had some drinks. Of course she was 32 or so and a bit young for any of us so it was just all in jest.

As we headed to our rooms for the night she sold Bart that she had a lady friend he needed to meet. She lived in LB and would he drive a bit North and meet her half way for a date? He took the bait and had dinner with her 10 days later.

Seems that they hit it off and 2 month later they are engaged to be married. I have seen photos and she is as good looking as he is handsome. Who knows whats in our future. Me, I am happy with my cat after being married to a model and chest cutter. Low maintenance but have to remember to trim the claws... :)

PS Princeville is wonderful. Last wedding I was in was on the beach North of Princeville at sunset. Beautiful setting and should I ever take the plunge again might be where it happens.

PSS Totally agree about Greece. Used to go to Greece every late October or early November. Friends Father in law had 3 30 foot sailboats on Kos and needed them ferried to Athens. We would sail them to a different island every night, anchor and enjoy the scenery. Simply beautiful and I fell in love with the Med then. Find the time and return.

2 week cruise throught the Baltic Sea. Started in Amsterdam, then:

Sweden
Finland
Norway
Estonia
Poland
Rostock, Germany, and one other port city in Germany
St. Petersburg (formerly Leningrad)

Quite the trip. In Russia, the sun didn't go down until 2:30 a.m. They call it white nights.

Best,

Oh Haha 12-01-2005 04:28 AM

Spent three days in Michigan's UP and Mackinaw Island traveling in the 911. No, they wouldn't let me take the car the island! Bastards!
Spent the last four days of our time off reroofing the house we had just purchased.

Much to the shock of friends and family we did a very unorthodox honeymoon. We drove to Asheville NC and wondered the Blue Ridge Highway for a week. We did all kinds of sightseeing including some hiking, it was very peaceful and we spent a lot of time alone unwinding from the wedding. We never knew where we would end up each night, some nights we were in very quaint cottages others a Holiday Inn. We had a blast.

Stayed at Secrets Capri.

Loved it. Too bad it's probably gone now. (Thanks Wilma!)

Took a cruise from Vancouver up the coast of Alaska, stayed an extra 2 days in Vancouver at the end. Strongly recommended to anyone.

We were right down the beach at the Aventura Palace (within walking distance of Puerto Aventuras). We went to Playa del Carmen one night but only briefly.

Very relaxing area of Mexico since it's a decent ways from Cancun.

First was marrige Marco Island, second was Ocean City Maryland ( I know, i'm a cheap bastard!) Was supposed to be Bora Bora, but had to change plans, actually putting it off until next summer

Got married on the back of a train (White Pass Railroad) on our way to the Loughton Glacier just north of Skagway, Alaska. The brakeman was one of our witnesses.

The following morning we hiked the Chilkoot trail from Alaska over the pass into Canada. 35 miles over rough terrain carrying 60lb packs. What a honeymoon!!!

My honeymoon was in Hawaii - Maui and Oahu.

We went back for our ten year anniversary in 2004 - visited Kauai and Maui.

I'm hoping we get to go back in 2006 - maybe start planning moving over there... Love the Hawaian Islands - they are paradise! :D

Like someone else ours was at Hot Springs, yeah poor too!
25 years later, my recommendation is Paris, stay in the Latin Quarter. Just did that one (with originial wife :)

Better win the lotto. Was there recently and the house inflation rate for the LAST FRIGGING YEAR on Maui was 850%!!! This is not a typo, it was 850%.

Anyone who can afford a house there, buy it now, hold onto it for a year or two and more than double your money. How long it will hold up is anyone's guess but I for one cannot afford it there...

Well...

We got married in July, and haven't taken our honeymoon yet. My wife's family has an incredible 100 yr old cottage on the river, so we just kicked everyone out after the wedding (that's where we got married), and stayed there for a week. Great weather, and no logistics. Plus, it's kinda nuts to leave that place in the summer, considering we're so lucky to have it.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1133451766.jpg
(Not a great picture of the cottage itself, this one is taken from the back, but you can get a sense for the setting)

We are still planning on taking a honeymoon in fall '06. We're flying into the US to buy a 911, and driving it back. I'd like to find one in Texas... that would be a cool trip. California would be great too if I can get the time off.

As long as I can make ends meet, that's all that matters...

My wife can teach - the turnaround for teachers is very high in Hawaii. Me? I can either rent surfboards to the dumb toursist, or work as a cabana boy. (Sorry Mrs. Silvertone, I am not allowed to rub suntan lotion on your body... hotel regulations, ya know. Oh, and the senior citizens discount doesn't apply to the poolside snack bar! ) Or, I can be the hired hand on the catamaran tours up the Na Pali coast.

We'll buy a meager home on the other side of the island, and make due.

And on Kauai, there are wild chickens all over the place - so if our plans turn out ot be two unemployeed people sleeping in a shack on the beach, we can always have chicken! (The hurricane a few years back destroyed the chicken coops, and they literally are everywhere on the Island - they have no natural predators there!)

In all seriousness, when we were there back in 2004, not a day went by where we didn't seriously talk about moving there permanently...

Considering that CC was married to a Greek gent, believe that it was probably somewhere in the Greek islands, and not a sort of lubricant.

Course coming from the Lubmeister you are one of the few who could get away with this one!

You just made my day. Seriously.

When I tell my wife, it will make her day too.

I want to go back there so bad. It is a great area. There is lots to do in the area, but the mood is laid back. Cancun, Cozumel, Chichen Itza are all relatively close by.

Secrets Capri itself is heaven on earth. Adults only, all-inclusive, and a relatively small resort too. I never had to wait for anything, ever. Sailing...great restaurants...and there is a swim-up bar!

Outermost Inn on Martha's Vineyard. It was off season so the island was empty. We really enjoyed it.

Monastir, Tunisia.
Although there is a lot of history there, I think we could have done better for the money spent.

Pros: Picked up a sweet Rolox and some stylish Ray-Bon shades.
Cons: Was questioned by every merchant, street vendor, and waiter about Bush.

Not my pic, but it IS a pic of the hotel we stayed in.
