Anybody else here have bruxism?

I thought my dentist was full of it, they were giving me all this shizzle last time I was there about how my back teeth were looking worn and that I'm definitely grinding/gritting my teeth and that I needed a guard/bite plate....

At first I said forget it, but when they checked my dental insurance Met Life said they would pay for virtually the whole thing.... I paid maybe $90 out of pocket for a $1000 device....

Anyway just picked it up yesterday, not all that uncomfortable, and judging by the tooth marks my lower teeth are making in it, I guess I do grind my teeth. Had to take it out to sleep though, just couldn't ignore the "braces" type feeling after a while...they said after a few weeks I'd actually have a hard time sleeping without it....

Anyone else living with one of these molded mouth guards?

Oh and the process of getting fitted was about the worst dental health related thing I've ever gone through, upper molds are unbelievably awful to get made....

Porsche content....I noticed my dentists car in the lot, blue 993 cab, nice ride....

LMAO. Ok, I know you (or anyone else with a life ) won't find it funny, but my wife is a doctor, and we will joke around and claim the other has some obscure disease that requires a trip to the dictionary. On day she unloaded Bruxism on me.....interesting to run across someone with the condition.

Not making light of your plight matey........

BTW, I will be living with it soon, because I am getting those 'invisiline' clear braces soon. 2 years in braces as a teen, and my teeth have drifted as I have gotten older....sucks......

Funny, I know, that's why I called bs at first, but you know I think they are right....this guard is a lot like those clear braces....

I never realized what a little teeth clenching can do to your teeth until they showed me the video (on the custom mounted flat screen above my dental chair)

Not sure I'f I have a disease or not.... but I do wear a mouth guard at night. I was grinding them so bad I lost a tooth (or it just fell out from old age) but I cant sleep now with out it.
