help me fix an air compressor

1) There is small needle like pin sticking out of a tube and a small tab presses against the pin and causes air to leak out. What is the purpose of this small needle like pin?

2) The compressor will fill the tank to 100 psig and then I have to turn it off or it will continue to fill the tank above 100 psig. Once it has been turned off, it will not start compressing until the tank is down to 20 psig.

3) Air leaks out of the oil fill vent breather hole until the tank is down to 20 psig and then stops leaking.

4) There are two adjustable springs. What is their purpose.

Anything will be helpful at this point.

1 could be a leaky pop off valve, which is designed to release pressure if the pump does not shut off.... Most compressors are set to go up to 125psi before they shut off.
2. sounds like switch is out of adjustment see item 4.

3. check valve leaking perhaps.

4. One spring controls at what pressure the compressor starts and the other controls when it shuts off.... sounds like they are out of adjustment. Normally they are set at the factory and don't need changed.
