Has anyone read "I am Charlotte Simmons"?

It's the new-ish novel by Tom Wolfe. I'm about 3/4 through it and it's riveting. As full of hyperbole as any Wolfe book is, but damn good.

The guy definitely gets into his characters' souls. "A Man in Full" was terrific. I'll get around to Charlotte when it's been out in paperback for a while. I'm way behind in my reading. Working on "A Confederacy of Dunces" now, then I have the most recent Stephenson trilogy....

I need to read A Man in Full. I went to the same undergrad as Mr Wolfe, so this book about modern undergraduate life is especially ingriguing.

I saw the 3-hr in-depth interview with Wolfe on CSPAN a few months back, and it was terrific. When I get time, I'm going to read some of his books. Which would be the best to start with?

I read A Man in Full and enjoyed it. A Confederacy of Dunces is a great book, have read it 3 times I think. I should re-read it now because of what happened to New Orleans. I'm not really interested in I am Charlotte Simmons, too many others to catch up on first.

If you can put yourself into an '80s mindset, i recommend "Bonfire of the Vanities."

I've read Charlotte Simmons. He goes a little too far with some of his characters - I don't know any popular seniors in college who would date a "nobody" freshman for months just to have sex with them. I think JoJo was exaggerated a little too much also. However, it was an interesting book, and I believe a lot of the situations accurately reflect modern college life.
