What is your favorite American Whiskey?
I know there is a big group of Marker Mark fans here but what other American Whiskey do you like/recommend.
I have been spoiling myself with single malt from across the pond but recently I picked up a bottle of Jim Beam to spice up my eggnog, the stuff doesn't smell/taste too bad all on it's own! I usually pour Canadian Whiskey in my mixed drinks.

Grew up with Jim Beam (Dad had a Manhattan every night) and still like the stuff. Wild Turkey sure does have a kick but then Makers is not bad either...

Evan Williams for everyday consumption. IMO just as good as Jack Daniels for a lot less $$$.
Maker's Mark for special occasions.

I always have a 1.75l bottle of Maker's Mark. It's like milk - a staple. Gentleman Jack is pretty good too.

Booker Noe
I toured the Woodford Reserve operation a few years ago. After all that pomp and circumstance I found out that the bourbon in the bottle wasn't the same stuff they make. It hadn't aged enough yet. I guess the marketing guys at Brown-Forman (who owns Woodford Reserve) figured it wouldn't hurt the brand to put some inferior crap out there in the same bottle. |

Man, most of that stuff tastes like azz. The better blended Canadian stuff is ok. I guess I'm just more of a sweet kind of guy, my thing, not really whiskey is SoCo.
But I haven't had any of that in years.

I wasn't going to mention it, since it isn't a whiskey, but I like SoCo also.

Booker Noe is good stuff.
I'm a Knob Creek guy for non-special occasion sipping.

I'm a fan of the woodford reserve as well, but bushmills is my whiskey staple.
