Guy Tearjerkers

Ok tough guys, what movies make your lip quiver and reach for the box of tissues?
After gettin misty eyed at the end of Saving Private Ryan (again) last nite, my wife wondering why guys get emotional at different movies than woman do. I said "its a guy thing you wouldnt understand"!
Which movies do it for you?

Mine are
Brians Song
The great Santini
Something for Joey
Mask

Last Samurai. Every time I watch the bridge scene where Katsumoto looks into the eyes of his wounded son Nobutada on the bridge, knowing his son will die while he escapes, I choke.

Just can't help imagining myself being forced into leaving my son behind.

Mask makes me cry, too, but that's because of Cher, not any emotional content.

Million Dollar Baby.

I mean, c'mon. Clint Eastwood, the guy who said "Go ahead, make my day", reduced to making tearjerker tripe?

That's enough to make any grown man cry.

I'm an engineer. I have no emotions. Just ask my ex-wife. :>) I can't say that I have shed any tears watching a movie, but am I the only person that gets totally freaked out watching "Event Horizon"? That movie gives me the creeps...

The movie versions of "Of Mice and Men" fall flat. But the book is a real tear jerker.

I'm still here - It was on MTV last night and it was the readings of teens diaries from the holocaust. The readings were accompanied by pictures from the era, in some cases they had pictures of the authors. Some of the authors lived and some were killed. It was very sad and I would lie if I said it did not touch me to the point of crying.

I do not know when it will be on again. I stongly suggest seeing it. It was very well produced.

Beside that.

I second Million Dollar Baby

I also made the mistake of watching the directors cut of Butterfly Effect, the ending of that was very depressing.

It's embarrassing but I will admit it...

Mr. Holland's Opus...

The scene at the end where he gets to play his symphony and finally hear his music that he's been composing all his life at his retirement ceremony gets me EVERY TIME.

Really--I thought Gary Sinise did an excellent job directing and acting in that. The casting, to me, was brilliant--just as I imagined every character from Slim to Candy to George and Lenny.

The Last Samurai, but not that part. It's the end that gets me.
