Sources for a rebuilt 3.0l Toyota motor?
Hello all, I am seeking to purchase a rebuilt or remanufactured Toyota V6 3.0l motor for my 1992 truck. Anyone have any leads or sources for one? There are tons on the web, but I want reputable references

Search around on pirate4x4 or yotatech and see what people say. If you have the time to do it yourself engnbldr.com has good kits for sale. Another option is to swap in a 3.4L from a 96+ truck. If you have a manual tranny it’s a direct bolt in. May I ask how many miles were on the engine? I have 165K on the 3.slow in my 88 4runner and its still runs great.

thanks Stanley. I just acquired the truck for a very good price and even if I have to put in a rebuilt motor, I'll be ahead. It has 199K miles on it and is seeping (leaking) some oil and I believe it's got at least one shot exhaust valve. Are there adapters to mate the 3.4 to an auto tranny?
