hmm....don't know that I agree with a lot of that list. For some, dying early was the best thing for their career.

Hmm, like Sid Vicious? Maybe Kurt Cobain? I have no sympathy for those who od'd or committed suicide.

They left off Joe Strummer.

The Rolling Stones have given their blessing to a new film which claims finally to solve the mystery behind the death of guitarist Brian Jones.

Jones was found dead in his swimming pool in 1969, aged 27, and was initially thought to have died from a drink and drugs overdose..

I did not know Robert Palmer was dead.

Rick James made the last of the list - had to laugh, not about him - about the stuff on Comedy Central.

What,.. no Jaco Pastorius, no Bradley Nowell, no Jeff Buckley? I'm sorry, but I don't think of John Belushi, Sid Vicious, Biggie Smalls, Tupac as musicians.

I saw the Blues Brothers in concert, as a warmup to the Grateful Dead. John Balushi qualifies as a musician. Great show.

Imagine if he'd died in 1985. I could just see some talking head on some retrospective saying: "Michael Jackson died far too soon. Just imagine what he could have achieved had he lived another 20 years..."

They missed Berry Oakley. I'd include him with Duane Allman I think.

No mention of Lowell George or Kevin Gilbert, either.
