So Shaun G9Girl made good on his word. I got a check the other day for $500 made out to JoeA (I won't post his last name). So, now what?

Short story:

I made a bet with Joeaksa that Fintstone won't show at the March Pelican get-together (see sticky at top of page) created by Mike (Lubemaster).

bet is for $500.

I thought doing something useful with the found money (if I win) would be better than dropping it into the cars.

Final decision on the nonprofit if I win: the $500 will be donated to Make a Wish Foundation as suggested by 928ram.

I vote for a slap fight, settle the whole thing. I don't know about you Mike, but I consider myself a charitable organization. By the way, I am now taking donations.

But what could be better than that?

Now you are just being greedy. ;) You got your dash pieces. :D Sorry I don't have anything for bimmers.

And I can tell you Shawn, my dash sure looked good. If only I could have used that to fix the rust, air condition it, and make the back seats useable, hell I might still have the old beast. Then there was that small problem of the engine spending more time on the garage floor than in the car, minor detail really.

Nothing for BMWs? Oh well, I'll just take the '73 off of your hands.......:)

brave shawn. what are the odds on the bet? they have to be against you, fint lives in vegas, right?

Shaun's bet is based on conjecture and emotion - two reasons why he will stand a very good chance of losing. But, at the end of the day it is all freindly and shouldn't be taken any other way.

(I just wish I had $500 to throw around! Maybe I should quit the lube business, give up teaching and writing and sell womens bras - seems more profitable and fun!))

My odds are better than you would think Cliff. T rue, Joe and Fint are buddies and Joe could certainly incent him to show up by splitting the winnings or going out to a nice dinner, but right now I'm feeling pretty good about this.

And I'm sure we're all pretty interested in meeting Fintstone. Is it worth $500? time will tell.
